Reverse Web Proxies
Nginx, Traefik, Caddy, and more
Friday, February 19, 2021 · 5 - 6:30 PM
Hello everyone!
Tonight's meeting will be at 5:00 PM on the topic of reverse web proxies. Reverse web proxies are essentially boxes that sit in front of web servers and forward clients' HTTP(S) requests to the web servers. They can be used to provide load balancing, application firewalls, HTTPS encryption, and most importantly for our use-case, they provide an easy way to effectively have two port-80 HTTP servers accessible via one public-facing IP address.
If you plan to attend and participate, please make sure you have working Greenbank VPN access! If you don't, then ping us on Discord before 5PM. It's not required, of course, but we plan to have you guys doing the proxy setup, not us, so VPN access is required for audience participation. (If you just want to come and watch the presentation, that's totally fine as well.)
