SEA Team for Relay for Life
We are making a team for Relay for Life! Julie, as of now, is team captain.
"Relay for life is 12 hour, all-night fundraising event to raise money for the American Cancer Society (ACS) to help its efforts to keep people healthy, help people get well, find cures for cancer, and fight back against cancer. We need more teams to sign up and help fundraise for this amazing cause. Our goal this year is to raise $42,000 with 45 teams and 455 participants, so creating an SEA team would really help (you could make any name you want for your team). Not only will you have an amazing time taking turns walking around the quad throughout the night to symbolize the continuous fight against cancer because cancer never sleeps, you will meet inspiring cancer survivors and hear their stories, eat free food, there will be music and various performances, and much more!
If you do decide to make a team, you will need to have a team captain. The first team captain meeting will be Tuesday,Dec 4th at at 7:30pm in the physics lecture hall. Here you'll get more important information (like how our theme this year is movies) and make sure your team is on the right track for Relay. There is a registration fee of $10 but when you really think about where this money is going and how it has the potential to save so many lives the price does not seem too bad at all! Please really consider joining Relay for Life. It really is nothing to difficult to handle and you end up having a great all-nighter that really benefits a lot of people. Plus, who doesn't like some friendly fundraising competition (there are opportunities to win prizes for the top fundraisers)"
