Come out this summer to work at Beans & Bread Center!
Ongoing volunteer opportunity.
There are two opportunities to get involved at Beans & Bread:
Client Engagement Volunteers help ensure a welcome, friendly, and organized environment at the Beans & Bread Center, a day resource center for people experiencing homelessness in the Fells Point area of Baltimore, Maryland. Client Engagement Volunteers are responsible for greeting each client, managing the mail room and mail pick-up, performing the initial intake process, and – with staff support – engaging clients into the additional programs and services available at the Beans & Bread Center. The Outreach Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:30am – 4pm.
Each Client Engagement Volunteer must complete a volunteer application with St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore before attending an orientation and training session with the volunteer coordinator and Assistant Director.
Meal Service Volunteers help the Kitchen Coordinator serve approximately 300 people daily at the Beans & Bread Center, a day resource center for people experiencing homelessness in the Fells Point area of Baltimore, Maryland. Beans & Bread offers a hot meal twice a day for anyone in need, and volunteers are needed Monday – Friday from 8am to 10am to serve breakfast, and 7 days of the week from 10:30am to 2pm for the lunch shift.
New weekly volunteers will fill out a St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore volunteer application and attend an orientation with the volunteer coordinator.
One-time volunteers will participate in a brief orientation and training on the day of their service.
