Contributing to ongoing efforts to help better our community
Operation Oliver is a one-year commitment to the Oliver neighborhood of Baltimore City, a crime-ridden and economically depressed area made famous by television’s The Wire. Through local partnerships, The 6th Branch is creating the model of a Veteran Sponsored Community (VSC), utilizing the military experience and veteran skill set to address needs here at home. October 1, 2011 is the first of four major service projects that will be augmented by ongoing efforts in the community.
Revitalize Oliver through strategic community partnerships.
- garbage removal
- community art (reflection gardens and murals)
- tree planting/greenspace creation
- crime watch
