On Saturday, April 10th, the 3rd annual Service-Learning and Civic Engagement Conference will be held at Towson University. This exciting event originated at UMBC in April 2008, then moved to the University of Baltimore in April 2009, and Johns Hopkins University plans to host it in spring 2011. SLLC opened in Erickson Hall in 2000, a pilot for other LLCs to come. Sargent Shriver came to UMBC for the big ribbon-cutting event in 2000. At this time, there are 200+ individuals who have ever lived on the floor, many who have since graduated from UMBC. Current SLLC members are planning this year's event with support from Shriver Center Staff, held on Saturday, March 27th, 10 am-4pm. Network with other UMBC and SLLC alums, hear what the current floor is up to, and participate in service projects during the day.
