SOURCE is the community engagement and service-learning center for the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Schools of Public Health, Nursing, and Medicine.
SOURCE’s mission is to engage the Johns Hopkins University health professional schools and Baltimore communities in mutually beneficial partnerships that promote health and social justice.
We also serve as a channel for student, faculty and staff involvement with community organizations, and local projects.
SOURCE has a particular, but not exclusive, focus on East Baltimore neighborhoods in close proximity to the Johns Hopkins Medical Campus.

2025 Community Engagement Survey for Students: Complete by Fri, May 9
SOURCE is surveying students and postdocs from the JHU Schools of Public Health, Nursing, and Medicine in order to determine students’ perceptions of community engagement and its place in the curriculum, qualify students’ perceived benefits and barriers to community engagement, and help refine future programming from SOURCE. Responses are anonymous. You will have an opportunity to enter a drawing for a chance to win a SWAG BAG if you respond by Fri, May 9!

Reminder: Report your service hours before the year ends
Report your 2024-25 community service or service-learning hours before the year ends! Data is used for engagement reports for our community partners, measuring community impact and advocating for programmatic support, recognizing and appreciating community engagement activities, securing funding for service-based activities, and sharing stories of impact to spread the word about service opportunities in Baltimore.
