We are a student organization sponsored by the Department of Mathematics & Statistics and SIAM, devoted to organizing activities that foster the application of mathematics at UMBC.
Our main goals are:
to advance the application of mathematics and computational science to engineering, industry, science, and society;
to promote research that will lead to effective new mathematical
and computational methods and techniques for science, engineering,
industry, and society;
to provide media for the exchange of information and ideas among mathematicians, engineers, and scientists.
UMBC Students from any department are encouraged to join the SIAM student chapter. UMBC students are also eligible for a free membership with SIAM. Information on how to obtain
