Progress in Motion: Sites Digital Accessibility Update

<Tagline>Celebrating campus wins and keeping the momentum strong!</Tagline>

Thank you to everyone involved in our website remediation process! This is a team effort that is actively making our websites easier for everyone to use. Thanks to the hard work of webmasters and department teams across all 523 of our sites, we are making serious, measurable headway. By kicking off Phase 1 with a focus on student-facing pages, early movers like CAHSS and DOSA have shown what’s possible when we dig in together. The proof is in the numbers: we've already remediated 2,650 pages, cleaned up 3,000 obsolete ones, and archived over 3,300 more. Our web footprint isn't just becoming fully accessible—it's getting leaner, cleaner, and way easier to navigate.

Our favorite statistics

As of August 24, 2026:

Deleted approximately 3,000 pages

Remediated 2,650 pages and 58 full sites

Archived 3,333 pages and 97 full sites

Currently in progress with 7,299 pages across 95 sites

These statistics encompass all 523 of our websites so are inclusive of our project's work as well as the work of our webmaster teams across campus!

Fully remediated sites by college/division

CAHSS: 14

DOSA: 12

UAA: 6

DPS: 5

COEIT: 5

CNMS: 4

ADFIN: 2

Provost's Office: 2

Enrollment Management: 2

Athletics, DoIT, ORCA, Social Work, Shared Governance: 1 each

Our phase 1 priorities intentionally focused on student-facing websites, so these results align with that choice and shouldn’t be read as a lack of effort or intention from primarily employee-facing divisions

Sites with the highest volume of remediated pages

Department of Psychology (116 and counting)

Department of Physics (103)

College of Engineering and Information Technology (97)

Department of Chemical, Biochemical and Environmental Engineering (80)

Sites with the highest volume of archived pages

or pages likely to be archived, excluding fully archived Sites

Undergraduate Council (480)

Education Abroad Office (96)

McNair Scholars Program (86)

Humanities Scholars Program (81)

Department of Theatre (65)

Department of Information Systems (54)

Faculty Development Center (50)

Division of Research and Creative Achievement (50)

While these numbers showcase extraordinary progress, the work is far from over. With 7,299 pages across 95 sites currently in active remediation, we have a lot of work currently in progress with a lot left to go. Heavy lifting from high-volume departments, like Psychology with over 116 remediated pages and the Undergraduate Council leading streamlining efforts, proves that large-scale change happens one page at a time. As we look ahead to the next phase, your continued effort to update, archive, and refine your digital content remains key to our success!
