The peer-led STEM LLC Event Planning Committees are organizing some events for the rest of the semester. The days and times of these events are listed below, so be sure to mark them in your calendars! These events will be posted under the "Events" tab closer to the scheduled days and times.

CDCL in partnership with the Student Government Association and the Graduate Student Association, is coordinating UMBC’s campaign to encourage every member of our campus community to “cast your whole vote” in Election 2020. “Casting your whole vote” means committing fully to building strong, inclusive, just communities in which everyone can thrive, before, during, and after the election. 

We hope you will participate in this campaign, which launches today, Tuesday, September 22nd (National Voter Registration Day), by doing the following:

• register or check your registration and make a voting plan using the tools at ALL In to Vote;

• take the ALL In to Vote pledge (and help put UMBC atop the national leaderboard), and share that you did (this is open to students, faculty, and staff);

• plan to attend the programs featured on thisElection 2020 Events flyer(and RSVP where required); 

• spread the word to your UMBC networks using the resources in the UMBC Cast Your Whole Vote Toolkit; and

• reshare the Toolkit with people at UMBC who may want to support the Cast Your Whole Vote campaign.

Spreading the word is especially important. Please use and share the Toolkit to help and encourage them to cast their whole votes.

Are you looking for strategies to tackle online learning? Do you want to build skills to improve your productivity? Are you looking to start each week with a little Monday Motivation? Join us for the six week Become a Better Learner Workshop Series that will set you up with STEM specific learning strategies, test-taking methods, an understanding of the power of learning our “failures” and that’s just the beginning!

The first workshop “Creating a Schedule for our Time” will take place on Monday, September 14th from 12-1PM. The other workshops will take place on 9/21, 9/28, 10/5, 10/12 and 10/19, all from 12-1PM. • We highly encourage participation from first and second year students, but welcome everyone that is interested in the workshop content.

• Participants are not required to participate in all six workshops and can sign-up for workshops based on interest.

• Participants will be required to RSVP via the myUMBC event post prior to the workshop.

• Access to the workshop link will be in each of the individual myUMBC event posts in The Learning Collaboratory myUMBC group page.

Today marks the first day of Involvement Fest, also known as I-Fest, and your best chance to become connected to one or more of the 230+ student organizations at UMBC! Student  organizations will be available to meet with you daily starting today, Tuesday, September 8, until Friday, September 11, from noon to 2 p.m. 

Student organizations are excited to share information with you and welcome new members! Each day, different categories of student organizations will be featured for you to connect with and potentially join. The organizations will be hosting live video rooms through Webex Teams.
