One final hello

Welcome to the last week of the semester that we're able to officially hold meetings. For those who attended meetings this year and supported us in our 1st year as an official club, thank you.
Our final meeting is tonight in ILSB 302 at 7pm. We will be talking about the general future of the club, do some planning, close out the semester, and probably have some time for something like Jackbox or Gartic Phone.

Welcome all to a new week of club. This is our final full week before finals and next week will be our last of the school year. Tonight's meeting is in our usual of ILSB 302 at 7:00 PM.

Tonight we will be hosting a speaker, Mary Ella Jourdak. She is an activist and advocate operating out of Annapolis with years of experience in the field and ripping into Delegates not doing their job. She is going to talk with us about the work she does and how you can engage in advocacy and activism in less structured ways beyond entering government or working for delegates. Come show support for our speaker and learn how you can get involved in larger movements or even start your own!

Tonight is a very special night as it’s the club’s first ever election. We will decide who will be leading the club in the next school year, and luckily most of the positions are competitive.

Votes will be cast in-person (in a secret ballot), so show up to ILSB 302 at 7:00pm if you want to decide who gets to deal with SGA next year. If you have yet to put your name in and want to run, the cut off for sign-ups is 5:00pm TODAY. 

To be able to vote in our election, you must have attended at least 2 club meetings this year. It's only fair that those who have actually made time for the club get a say. 

Aye, it's 4/20, you know what that means: it's the start of lesbian visibility week.

College Students fo Democracy is having our weekly meeting tonight in our usual ILSB 302 at 7pm. Tonight is a planning meeting as we plan out out the rest of our semester (we only got a few weeks left before finals destroy us).

Additionally, we are also opening up Elections! If you want to guide the club in your own direction and help us florish, considering joining the race. All positions are open.

We’re excited to introduce College Students for Democracy, a new student organization at UMBC dedicated to civic engagement, activism, and protecting democratic values.

Our mission is to educate, empower, and mobilize students to take action—on campus, in our communities, and in the world beyond. We’re here for anyone who cares about issues like voting rights, human rights, justice, and equity—and wants to do something about it.

We do tabling events, volunteer work, speaker visits, phone banking, protests, informational events. We plan to get speakers on campus and help students to learn more about what’s happening in the country and how they can make a difference.
