Register for ANCS 350 and learn about magic and witchcraft from the ancient world and modern legends of the supernatural and paranormal. Explore ancient stories of demons, ghosts, vampires, werewolves, ancient sorcery and witchcraft.
Discover the western tradition of magic and magical thinking. ANCS 350 concentrates on the present daily practical magic and curses, and its contributions to the use of astrology, dream-interpretation, and fortune telling in medicine and philosophy. This is a hybrid courses. Students will participate in online discussions as well as in-class lectures/debates.

This January, YOU can be behind-the-scenes.
Media and communications professionals are the driving force behind entertaining sports production - from camera operations to post game highlights.
This January, YOU can be behind-the-scenes in the exciting world of sports production in MCS 370 - Special Topics in Media and Communications: Sports Production, where you'll learn how to broadcast and market collegiate sports events.
During this hands-on course, work with the professionals who produce and promote UMBC basketball games. Assist in game broadcasts, learn about camera operations, work in-game marketing entertainment, see how sponsorships are established, and help create post game highlight packages.
This upper level course is a New Media and Applied Communication elective for Media and Communication Studies majors.
