The Center for Global Engagement's Education Abroad Office invites faculty to propose to lead a study abroad program. Faculty members interested in proposing a program for an upcoming term should meet with Katherine Heird, Director of Education Abroad & Global Learning, to review the process. To schedule a meeting, send your available days/times to meet to kheird1@umbc.edu.

A complete Faculty-Led Study Abroad Program Proposal Packet should be submitted to educationabroad@umbc.edu by the deadline to be considered.

Proposal deadlines:

Winter/Spring Break 2026 programs: November 1, 2024

Summer 2026 programs: April 1, 2025

Important: Faculty directors must consult with their academic department chair(s) before submitting a proposal. Chairs will be asked to review your program proposal according to the Academic Department Chair(s) Checklist.
