Motivational Monday TEDx of the Week

<Tagline>"There’s no shame in taking care of your mental health."</Tagline>

Looking for a dose of inspiration to start your week? No need to look any further. Each week, we curate talks on topics that matter NOW for all of us related to resilience, self-care, dealing with uncertain times, as well as ways to stay connected, inspired, and grounded when the earth beneath us is shifting.

Today's talk is There's no shame in taking care of your mental health by Sangu Delle. When stress got to be too

that men shouldn't take care of their mental health. In a personal talk, Delle
shares how he learned to handle anxiety in a society that's uncomfortable with
emotions. As he says: "Being honest about how we feel doesn't make us weak
    -- it makes us human."

After you watch, we invite you to reflect on the following:

What resonated for you in the video?

What lived experiences do you have, either personally or professionally that align with the core message of the talk?

As you think of your role as a student, employee, or manager what feels relevant and useful to remember?

What are you taking away that feels meaningful - either a new perspective, a potential action, etc.

How might we take better care of ourselves and each other during this time?

If you're a supervisor, consider using this talk for team building purposes! You might send the video ahead of your meeting with several reflection questions on which you'd like your staff to come prepared to speak.

Looking for a dose of inspiration to start your week? No need to look any further. Be grateful by David Steindl-Rast, a monk and interfaith scholar. The one thing all humans have in common is that each of us
wants to be happy, says Brother David Steindl-Rast. And happiness, he suggests, is born from gratitude. An inspiring
lesson in slowing down, looking where you're going, and above all, being
    grateful.

Motivational Monday TEDx of the Week

<Tagline>"Why sleep matters now more than ever."</Tagline>

Looking for a dose of inspiration to start your week? No need to look any further. Each week, we curate talks on topics that matter NOW for all of us related to resilience, self-care, dealing with uncertain times, as well as ways to stay connected, inspired, and grounded when the earth beneath us is shifting.
Today's talk is Why sleep matters now more than ever by Matt Walker, Sleep scientist, professor, and author.

A good night's sleep has perhaps never been more important. Sharing wisdom and debunking myths, sleep scientist Matt Walker discusses the impact of sleep on your min and body -- from unleashing your creative powers to boosting your memory and immune health -- and details practices you can start (and stop) doing tonight to get some rest. (This virtual conversation is part of the TED Connects series, hosted by head of TED Chris Anderson and current affairs curator Witney Pennington Rodgers. Recorded April 1, 2020)
