Sunday, March 12, 2023. UMBC Transit will be unable to service the following stops on the Downtown route (map), from 9:00am - 6:00pm, due to Under Armour 5K St. Patrick's Day Shamrock.

Heavy traffic and back-ups are expected entering Campus from 10:00am to 12:30pm and from 3:00pm to 5:00pm. 

Transit Riders ~
If you're planning to attend this Career Fair and planned to take UMBC Transit, we're asking that you plan to come to campus several hours before the start of the Career Fair as we are expecting heavy ridership on our Paradise and Courtney Rd. routes. UMBC Charter Services will be assisting with transporting employers to and from the Fair, therefore, additional resources that would otherwise serve to assist with overcrowding on the aforementioned routes will be limited.

If you're driving, please follow all police directions and use caution while traveling. Expect heavy pedestrian traffic in the area and remember to always yield to pedestrians. Avoid UMBC Boulevard and utilize alternative entrances/exits such as Hilltop Road, Walker Avenue, and Poplar Avenue.

Beginning Monday, February 20, 2023, UMBC Transit's Courtney Rd. route will be discontinued to increase frequency to the Paradise route. 

 

This necessary change will maximize current Transit resources, improving passenger and driver safety while reducing overcrowding on the buses. Please reference the enhanced Paradise schedule here.

Safety Standards for Riders Boarding With Personally-Owned Foldable E-scooters

In keeping with the general policy of our public transit partner at MDOT-MTA, customers may now bring Foldable Electric Scooters (weighing less than 50 pounds) effective February 6, 2023. 

Boarding a vehicle with an e-scooter may be restricted when passenger volume is at or over capacity. Gas-powered scooters are prohibited, regardless of whether they are also battery powered.
