Fulbright Scholar in Residence @Marcelo Echague Pastore of Paraguay offers his Top10 tips for a successful Fulbright SIR experience:   1.     The Fulbright SIR Program is unique in terms of the variety of projects you can lead and participate, so be creative!   2.     Fulbrighters are highly regarded in the US, so take advantage of that for making connections and carrying out new projects 3.     Advertise your name everywhere when you get to the US (including campus and community)  4.     Be strategic by focusing on WIN-WIN areas for any new Project you have in mind 5.     Be a champion when carrying out a project and make sure to align/articulate any relevant stakeholders (Chair-Dean-Director of International Affairs-Provost) 6.     Make sure to follow-up the progress on all projects/activities you are involved in (Excel sheet for a close monitoring) 7.     Regularly check with your Chair the progress on the activities/projects you are involved (support and guidance from host institution is key) 8.     Attend meetings, accept invitations and offer yourself for collaboration (networking is KEY for a productive/successful Fulbright experience) 9.     Use your contacts to put US institutions in touch with people in your country (new opportunities are created that way) 10. Resources in US academic institutions are usually far greater than in our respective home countries, so don't hesitate to ask about their usage for funding the projects you are leading!

🇨🇳 The number of Chinese students in the United States has fallen more than 20 percent from 370,000 in 2019, according to the U.S. Department of State.
