According to NASA, for 40 years, what created the Moon’s ionosphere was a puzzle until Tim Stubbs an Assistant Research Scientist at UMBC working at the Goddard Space Flight Center published a possible solution — moondust. “An ionosphere made of dust,” says NASA, “instead of gas is new to planetary science.
