We’re looking for students who are comfortable working in:

• Illustrator CC+

• Photoshop CC+

• InDesign CC+

Bonus Points If:

• You have experience in pre- and post-production print, or any other kind of printing skills

• You have interest or experience with animation/motion design

• You can get super nerdy about typography

• You have an interest or experience in photography

Your personality is along the lines of:

• Self-motivated

• Team-oriented

• Attentive to details

• Manages time and deadlines well

• You love design too much

Non-negotiables:

• Be highly dedicated & organized

• Must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher

• Must pass a judicial check

• Must have at least 2 semesters left

• Must be able to work at least 10 hours a week

• Be an undergraduate student

First of all, we will be holding a lecture, "Combining Origami Art & Product Design? Surprising Opportunities for Societal Impact," this Friday, November 9th, at 6:30pm with doors opening at 6pm. The featured lecturers, David Morgan and Larry Howell from Brigham Young University, will show how the traditional art form of origami is now impacting product design in applications as diverse as spacecraft, consumer products, and surgical instruments. The lecture is held in conjunction with our current exhibition: “Folding the Future” Theoretical Origami Devices.” This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Secondly, we recently opened up applications for two spring 2019 internship opportunities to students currently enrolled in a four-year degree program with two or more years of undergraduate study completed or currently enrolled at the graduate level. The Creative Alliance at the Patterson is super excited to expand and start new Creative Alliance After School programs this year at Tench Tilghman Elementary/Middle and John Ruhrah Elementary/Middle Schools for K-8^th grade students. They’re massive and awesome!

They have two visual art teacher openings for K-1^st grade at $35/hr and looking for teachers with a minimum 2 years’ experience. See attached.

They would love to host student tutors as volunteers, with various incentives as part of the Creative Alliance team. See attachments.

Picturing Italian Art and Culture in Context

Rome, Italy, July 3 – 31, 2019

This program includes two Visual Arts courses, ART329 Topics in Art History: Roman Visual Culture and ART369/392 Topics in Photography, Art, Media: Mobile Imaging in Italy, for a total of 6 undergraduate credits. Both courses engage the rich history and architecture of Rome, analyzing and exploring it through new technologies and social media.

Both courses can be used to fulfill the following requirements:

• For the BA/BFA in Visual Arts, ART329 will fulfill requirements for the Art History portion of all VA concentrations

• For the BA/BFA in Visual Arts, ART369/392 will fulfill requirements for the Photography concentration or it can be used to count as an art elective in any of the other VA concentrations
• For Global Studies majors, the program fulfills the Study Abroad requirement
• Both courses can be used to fulfill requirements for general electives
