Baltimore magazine is seeking a part-time Digital Development Intern to join our team for the fall 2018 semester. This position will provide support to the Special Editions team.

Responsibilities:

Assist with migration of content from Craft CMS to WordPress
Gather content from current site or original print files
Ensure proper tagging for all posts
Prepare images for web as needed
Create digital assets and designs for web pages as needed
Assist with website user-ability testing including cross-browser and mobile website testing
Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

Must be enrolled in degree-granting program to receive college credit
Experience with WordPress (Craft a plus)
Familiarity with Photoshop and InDesign
Accuracy and attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Self-motivated and reliable
Strong communication and time management skills
Understanding of SEO, Google Analytics, and Webmaster Tools a plus
HTML and CSS knowledge a plus

Restorative Flow Yoga in the Park!

Please join us for yoga in the Joseph Beuys Sculpture Park from Sept. 4th thru Oct.4th on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 12noon.

Certified Instructor Mel Freeman practices a Vinyasa Flow as well as a much slower Restorative Flow, which he will be starting in the park on Sept. 4th. This level of activity is especially appropriate for beginners as well as seasoned yoga practitioners. Please bring your own yoga mat or towel. Learn the dance forms of India with Shobha Subramanian! ASIA300/DANC301 "Indian Dance" - M-W: 1-2:15PM This course provides a basic introduction to Indian Classical Dance-Theater. We will broadly cover Indian classical dance styles practiced in post-colonial Indian subcontinent & the diaspora with focus on one classical dance form, Bharatanatyam. Students will learn the basics of this dance form, using hands, feet, body movement and facial expressions to tell stories. Finally, we will internalize all of this in a holistic blend of body, mind and intellect. Students will get an overview of East Indian culture, heritage, Hindu mythology and ancient Temple arts. The mid-term and final exam will be performance-based or a Long Paper.

VART major, Nicolle Konkel, who is in the Art History and Museum Studies concentration, just received a paid internship titled, the "James Lollar Hagan Internship," http://americanhistory.si.edu/getinvolved/internship/james-lollar-hagan-internship at the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History (NMAH)

Niki will be working on an upcoming exhibition at the NMAH titled, Entertaining America. Her work will involve researching objects in the collection, as well as graphics and media for the exhibition. Niki is also charged with collecting feedback from visitors to the NMAH about the upcoming exhibition, to help curators develop the exhibition concept and programing.
