The rapid evolution of tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude confronts us with urgent questions: How do we understand and use these tools? How might we integrate these technologies effectively? Where do we set the academic and ethical boundaries for their use? This presentation explores the current generative AI landscape offering practical insights for educators and institutions. The goal is to outline a pragmatic, forward-looking approach to AI literacy that empowers both faculty and students.

Across 6 programs, The Shriver Center works in collaboration with our students, faculty, staff, and community partners, aims to address critical societal challenges by bridging campus and community through engaged scholarship and applied learning. Together, we envision meaningful social change through transformational higher education and community partnerships.

Gordon Ramsay sued me for stealing one of his recipes for my restaurants (In my defense, it was really good). Now I’m on the verge of bankruptcy, and the media keeps hounding me! They go to my house, they find me at Starbucks, they even show up to CyberDawgs meetings! They keep asking me questions, questions, questions. My lawyer (Saul Goodman, fantastic guy) advised me to reply to all their questions with “no comment”. But all I could think about was how did he know about where I hid all my [statements redacted by Goodman & Associates]???
He’s a great lawyer but sometimes a bit unethical. He recently sent me this mysterious file, he says it contains some incriminating chat logs of Gordon which may sway the case in our favor. Apparently he stole them from Gordon when he was busy shouting at one of his contestants on his show. I looked at the file, but I didn’t see any evidence, but maybe you can find it?
Anyways, I hope I win this case soon, I can’t afford to be featured on another news headline...

The first annual joint NASA Plankton Aerosol Cloud ocean Ecosystem
(PACE) Science Team Meeting (PAC3) was held at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies
(GISS) in New York City, NY from February 18 – 21, 2025. This event brought together over 100 scientists from the PACE Science and Applications Team, researchers funded to use PACE data for new scientific directions; the PACE Validation Science Team, researchers who have field observations that will be used to validate PACE measurements; and, team members of the PACE-PAX field campaign, the recent airborne study that underflew PACE with compatible remote sensing instruments over the southwestern US.
ESI’s multi-angle polarimeter instruments,
HARP2, one of three main payloads on the NASA PACE satellite, and
AirHARP2, its airborne counterpart, were focal points in discussion and collaborative effort across the three PACE teams. During PAC3, ESI director
Dr. J. Vanderlei Martins gave an overview of current calibration and data processing efforts with HARP2. ESI scientist
Dr. Lorraine Remer discussed new results from her team’s aerosol retrieval algorithm applied to data from the PACE Ocean Color Instrument (OCI). ESI scientist
Dr. Brent McBride spoke to the members of PACE-PAX about the current calibration and data processing effort for the AirHARP2 instrument, a suite of four remote sensors that flew on the high-altitude NASA ER-2 aircraft during the campaign. ESI scientist
Dr. Xiaoguang Xu also participated in person, and other ESI scientists and graduate students joined remotely throughout the week.
