ECEP 405: Global Engineering
Hello retriver entrepreneurs! 

Interested in working with a Peer from another country developing and solving global challenges with three other countries?? Employers are seeking individuals who understand and can work as global citizens. This important skill set is highlighted not only as a student outcome in ABET and highlighted in the World Economic forum, World Bank, UNESCO and more. This semester's project will be focusing on developing appropriate technology for global poverty. 

This Spring 2025, the Engineering and Computing Education Program will be offering ECEP 405: Global Engineering. As an award winning class and proven/published research class, this opportunity provides students an authentic engaging experience to work with peers from three other countries, synchronously, developing solutions to our global world using their engineering background. Germany, Brazil and Portugal universities will be joining us this semester. 

Highlight your resume with an important needed skill set with an authentic engineering class capstone like experience. Work with Brazil, Germany & Portugal!

Entrepreneurship Minor Elective- This past Fall semester we had a team earn 2nd place in the Idea Competition consisting of Engineering, HCC, computer science and IS majors!

Elective for Engineering Management, HCC, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, IS, andd BTA programs.

Welcome back to school Retriever Entrepreneurs! The team at the ABCEI has located knowledgeable entrepreneurs to present on important topics to help YOU learn more about entrepreneurship. You don't want to miss any of these incredible events! In addition, the ABCEI will be hosting the Cangialosi Business Innovation Competition (CBIC)!

This year, the ABCEI will offer 2 tracks: the Technology & Innovation Track and Social Impact Track. The ideas selected by our esteemed panel of judges will be presented at the 2025 CBIC Final Event. Winners in each track can win up to $3,000 with an opportunity to win an additional $2,000 after a 6 month progress review. The form to apply will be live on February 10th, 2025!

Here are the important dates to remember:
        - Deadline for idea submissions: March 3 at 1pm
        - Final Event: April 17 from 6:30 - 8:30pm at bwTECH South
        - The link to submit your application will be live Feb 10th!

Thank you to those who attended and participated in the first Full-Circle Climate Communication Workshop held at UMBC between January 13 to 17, 2025. The workshop successfully brought together over 50 people from a wide range of disciplines and with varied expertise to consider how best to communicate issues regarding climate resilience. 


During the workshop, participants were challenged to strategize and develop new and innovative ways to communicate in a transdisciplinary team. Each team consisted of a variety of experts from a wide range of fields that included but were not limited to Public Policy, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Visualization, Visual Arts, Performance Arts, Geography, Storytelling, Media Communication, and Behavioral Sciences. 


We truly thank everyone who made the workshop a success.
