Graduate Student Support Group Grad students have unique challenges that RIH can support


Pursuing a graduate degree or Ph.D. is an incredible milestone in a person’s academic career. Yet, maintaining wellness within graduate programs can often be challenging. The Graduate Student Support Group is a space for students to connect, share, and grow alongside others. This group will serve as a space to celebrate your strengths, resilience, and creativity while exploring strategies to thrive both academically and personally. Together, we’ll focus on finding a balance between school and personal life, navigating relationships with advisors and peers, and managing stress and academic pressure, all while staying grounded in your values and career goals. This is ultimately a space to support one another, feel empowered, and find strength in community.

This group meets virtually on Thursdays from 3 - 4:15 p.m. beginning February 20. 

Due to licensure laws, all students must be located in the state of Maryland during the group to participate.

The first step to joining any group is to complete an Initial Consultation appointment. Please call us at 410-455-2542 or visit the RetrieverCare portal to schedule.

For general group questions, or if you need accommodations for a disability, please send a secure message to CC Front Desk via the patient portal at least one week prior to the start of group and RIH will arrange for services.

The Division of Institutional Equity (DOIE) is working to engage campus partners to gather essential feedback on the needs of our students in relation to accessibility and disability services. There will be two opportunities for students to meet directly with consultants Amanda Kraus and Kristie Orr.

All sessions are in University Center (UC) 310.

Thursday 1/30/25
  • 11 am is Academic Success partners
  • 1 pm is Faculty
  • 2 pm is Staff
  • 3:15 is Support Services Partners

Friday 1/31/25 at Noon (12 PM) is Students lunch session
