<Title>Chrissie Reilly Successfully Presents</Title>
<Tagline>her dissertation research proposal</Tagline>

    <div>The Language, Literacy, and Culture Program is pleased to announce that <strong>Chrissie Reilly </strong>of LLC Cohort 13 successfully and skillfully presented her dissertation research proposal to her committee on April 23, 2024.</div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>Chrissie's project is titled, <em>“At Least it isn’t Afghanistan”: An oral history of U.S. Air Force support to Ukraine from Ramstein Air Base, Germany in 2022.</em><br>
    </div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>After her presentation, Chrissie had a substantive discussion with the committee about the next stages of her work. The committee agreed that the project is worthy of doctoral research and helped Chrissie consider some key issues as she moves forward into the research and writing.</div>
    <div><br></div>

    <div>Researchers at UMBC are seeking participants for a fully online study. The purpose of this study is to better understand how citizens think about current events. In particular, we are interested in how people discuss current events and issues in groups. </div>

    <div>The study will take about <strong>45 minutes in total to complete.</strong> </div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>It is fully online.</div>
    <div><br></div>
    <div>During the course of the study, no identifying information will be collected or retained, and privacy and confidentiality will be ensured throughout the research process.</div>

    <div>As a participant in this study, you will be asked to:<br>•    Respond to a short survey asking about you and your opinions via the Qualtrics platform.<br>•    Participate in a roughly 30-minute online conversation on the Webex platform with a group of your peers<br>•    Respond to a short survey asking you about your experience via the Qualtrics platform.</div>
