Are you passionate about empowering aspiring and early-career women attorneys? Join Ms. JD as an Intern and contribute to our mission of supporting and advocating for women in the legal profession. This unpaid internship offers an invaluable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event planning, fundraising, and research within a dynamic nonprofit organization.

Intern Duration: Spring Semester 

Location: Remote

About Ms. JD: 
Ms. JD envisions a world where every woman is afforded the opportunity to design and realize her legal career without limits. Internship Responsibilities:
  • Assist in planning and organizing events, workshops, and seminars aimed at supporting women attorneys.
  • Conduct research on relevant legal topics, industry trends, and best practices to enhance our resources.
  • Support fundraising initiatives through donor research, grant applications, and outreach efforts.
  • Collaborate with the team on various projects contributing to the organization's goals.

Qualifications:
  • Current enrollment in a college or university program, pursuing a degree in business, communications, nonprofit management or another related field.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for promoting gender equality and supporting women in the legal profession.

Tejas Gokhale, Assistant Professor in CSEE, delivered a tutorial on "Reliability of Generative Models in Vision" at the IEEE/CVF Winter Applications of Computer Vision on Jan 8, 2024. 

The tutorial, co-organized with researchers from Arizona State University and University of Maryland College Park, provided a holistic perspective on the challenges and opportunities for developing robust and reliable image generators, given all the discussions around copyright infringements and model compositionality failures.

The tutorial covered the following topics:

1. Recent Advances and Reliability Concerns in Image Generation.
2. Understanding training data memorization in diffusion models and ways to mitigate it.
3. Attribution and Fingerprinting of Image Generative Models.
4. Challenges with Evaluation of Text-to-Image Models.
5. Characterizing and Mitigating the Misalignment Between the Evaluation of Generative Models and their Intended Use Cases
6. Developing Robust Text-to-Image Generative Models in Resource-Efficient Manner.

The tutorial was well-received by the WACV audience, who appreciated the breadth and depth of the topics covered, as well as the practical insights and recommendations provided by the speakers.

The 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now available! The anticipation is over with the soft launch of the newly improved FAFSA form. The "soft launch" of the application means that the Department of Education will be monitoring the new form for any issues. As a result, UMBC won't be able to process applications until at least the end of January. Once we begin to process applications, we will notify you that we have your FAFSA, and we suggest you continue to monitor your account for updates in order to receive your financial aid package in a timely manner.
