Happy Monday, everyone!

We hope you all had a restful break! Y'all know the drill, here's what's going on this week:
1. Voting for next year's Eboard closes TONIGHT! We've been lucky enough to have several people running, and we want your voice to be heard! 2. Once voting closes, we'll be announcing the new Eboard. If there are any ties, we'll be holding a runoff election for those positions. Keep a look out for that, and we'll keep you updated!
3. Weather permitting, we'll be hitting Army Field this Friday! Returning members are well familiar with this spot, and if you aren't, it's a wonderful place when clean. If you can make it, we'd love to see you there!

Central Payroll of Maryland is implementing additional multi-factor authentication measures for our Payroll Online Service Center (POSC) site to protect employee information and payroll data.

Beginning March 30, 2026, POSC will send employees a secure PIN to the email address registered with POSC when they attempt to log in. This means all employees must have a valid email address in POSC; otherwise, they will not receive a PIN and will not be able to access POSC.

Before March 30, 2026, employees should log into POSC and review the email address on record. An employee's email address can be found under the "Modify User Logon" menu located on the right side after logging in.

Encouraging Academic Integrity: Discussion of Cheating, Grading, and Course-Level Policies in the Era of AI, 4/1

Chapters from Teaching with AI, 2nd Ed., by Bowen & Watson

Join the UMBC Faculty Development Center for a discussion of three chapters from the newly revised book Teaching with AI: A Practical Guide to a New Era of Human Learning by José Antonio Bowen and C. Edward Watson. The previous discussion focused on Chapter 8 "Cheating and Detection" and part of Chapter 9 "Policies." This session will continue to discuss course-level policies and move on to Chapter 10 "Grading and (Re-)Defining Quality". A brief summary of the previous discussion will be provided at the beginning of this session. This session is open to faculty and staff only.
