DON’T MISS OUT: Inclusive Internship Opportunity Supporting autistic and neurodivergent talent

Integrate is recruiting an autistic and/or neurodivergent candidate for a Creative Services Internship with WTAE-TV, a part of Hearst Television, located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

This in-person internship requires the candidate to work for 40 hours per week. The priority deadline to apply is Monday, February 24. The final deadline is Monday March 10. Candidates should apply by submitting their resume to the Creative Services Internship posting on our website: Current Openings.

To the UMBC Research and Creative Achievement Community,

Effort Reports for Fall 2025 are available and ready for certification. 

The Fall 2025 period includes Payroll 2026‐001 through Payroll 2026‐014 (from June 29, 2025 through January 10, 2026). Certifications are due March 31, 2026.

Please remember that Effort Reports are both a Compliance Tool and a Grants Management Tool. After reviewing payroll charges, work with your business managers if any changes are needed. Payroll cost transfers (retros) should be processed prior to certification of Effort Reports as retros will re‐open any previously certified effort due to adjustments.

To find out whether you have open effort reports for Fall 2025 (see page 6, Year: 2025 Period: Fall) and to learn how to certify them, see the attached updated Effort Report Quick Guide with screenshots for your convenience. This guide provides detailed instructions on how to access the Effort Reports.

In order for UMBC to be in compliance, please check Open effort reports for previous periods under your PI/Certifier ID name to ensure they have been Finalized. Any payroll cost transfers (retros) for previous periods will re-open effort reports and they need to be certified and finalized again.

*NOTE: If you are new to Effort Report certification, please see page 13, FAQ #1 in the Quick Guide for information on how to gain certification access. You will not be able to certify without proper access in PeopleSoft.

*NOTE: If the PI on the project is not available to certify due to termination, sabbatical, etc. see page 13, FAQ #2 in the Quick Guide for instructions. Requests must come directly from the department chair/dean/director.

Kol Yisrael: Peoplehood, Resilience & Antisemitism– Kol Yisrael: Peoplehood, Resilience & Antisemitism is a 6-week Israel learning series led by Danielle. This learning experience will explore big questions about Israel, Jewish identity, and resilience in the face of antisemitism. Each session shares multiple perspectives to spark discussion and help participants understand diverse viewpoints.

UPON COMPLETION, EARN A STIPEND OF $150

JLF: Pursuing Justice–JLF: Pursuing Justice is a 10-week course taught by Lisa. We will be exploring the following questions: How might Jewish tradition refract an ethos for the kind of commitments we want to make and the actions we want to take to improve our shared society? For whom are we responsible? What do we need to know about ethics, power, and action before we make those decisions?To address these enduring questions, we will look to classical and contemporary Jewish wisdom, to see what it might offer us as we work toward creating a more just world.

Welcome to the UMBC Gameroom myUMBC Group!


This page will provide occasional updates to hours and scheduled closures and reopening.

Be sure to also follow the Gameroom Instagram page @umbcgameroom for more frequent updates (early closures, delays, events, etc.) and fun posts!

Who we are

The UMBC Gameroom is a space on the second floor of Commons for people to play games, relax, and, study. We have tables for Billiards, Pong Pong, and, Foosball as well as a variety of board games and TV's to plug in your own consoles. 

Renting equipment and tables is free and can be done at our front desk where you must provide a UMBC ID card in exchange for the equipment. 

Each patron is guaranteed a minimum of 45 minutes on any checked out equipment however if there are people waiting we may ask you to return the equipment if you've already used the equipment for at least 45 minutes. If nobody is waiting you may continue using the equipment for as long as you'd like. 

If you are waiting for a Billiards or Ping Pong table, you can join our waitlist to ensure that you will be next in line to use a table. 

If you would like to charge a device we also have a charging station behind the desk where you can give your UMBC ID and leave your device plugged in.

On Monday, February 2, we will host Dinner with Friends, an engaging, facilitated conversation that will connect you with other members of the UMBC community. 


Our conversations will be focused on two interrelated questions:

  1. "How do you live your values in community?"

  2. "How do you live a life that sustains you?"


We will explore challenges with thriving, share resources to support thriving, and generate ideas about how we, as a UMBC community, can improve thriving on campus.


This program, as a part of Winter Welcome Retrievers, will take place on February 2, 2026 from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in the University Center, UC 312. A catered dinner will be provided.


This program is a collaboration between the Center for Democracy and Civic Life and Student Belonging.
