The BreakingGround Community Program Committee works with UMBC faculty, staff and students creating innovative, educational social change projects. One of the projects we have supported this year is Project Insight, a research project in the Upton/Druid Heights community led by UMBC undergraduate and graduate students. Project Insight's goal is to gather residents' perspectives on what helps and hinders their healthy eating within their home, immediate family and neighborhood, and identify ways that the Upton/Druid Heights community and the UMBC community can support older adults in maintaining a healthier diet... This seminar course will combine readings, written assignments and class discussions in order to help students explore the interface between science and spiritual beliefs. Classes will consider examples and insights from multiple disciplines, including biology, psychology, mathematics, philosophy, music, art, history and more. This course will not debate religion versus science; instead it will explore a variety of different relationships that other minds have advocated over the years. In particular, the course will NOT seek to introduce any one particular view as correct: instead, students will be encouraged to develop a scholarly context for their own, personal view of the relationship between these two ways of experiencing our place within reality.

You're probably aware of our shakey but ever improving relationship with the school. We've gotten practice consistently at the stadium! woo! But sometimes we don't get it. Well tonight and tomorrow is one of those cases... :/

However! We've got Catonsville High turf tonight! Wahoo! but nothing for tomorrow...

This week's schedule:

Tuesday 4-1 (APRIL FOOLS DAY!)

8:15 Meet at Erickson loop

8:30 - 10:30 Practice at Catonsville High Turf

Wednesday - 4-2

Hunt down Squirrel, Alejandro, Colby, and Sara because they pirated DPK 22 and there's no practice.

Friday 4-4

3-6 Practice as usual.

Please make every effort to come to all of these practices. Last Friday was disappointing when we didn't have enough people to scrimmage. You're hurting your team when you don't come. We've worked so hard and come so far since September, the culmination of which is only two weeks away. I love you guys and I'm doing everything I can to kick ass at sectionals, I hope you're doing the same.

When you get together through DTT to throw do more than just toss around, do a 3 man marking drill, 2v2 game, 500. The more focused playing the better!

Condition hard!!! Lateral running, sprints, cutting, blaahh! Take care of any injuries now!

Men, it's been a pleasure; April 12th we go to war.

Per conversations of the ASEC and ASAC, there is a request to further explore some technical possibilities that could enhance the incomplete grading procedures in a systematic way. Some of the technical considerations include: Incomplete Grading Contracts â�¢ Can electronic contracts be implemented such that faculty can specify the terms of agreement? â�¢ Can this information automatically populate in advising notes? â�¢ Can students/faculty/advisors get a copy of the incomplete grading contract via email and/or alerts? â�¢ Can the terms of agreement (specific time limits be set and enforced ? â�¢ Can students and faculty have an I grade summary report and receive reminders about time limits? Registration/Degree Audit â�¢ Can students be blocked from registering for a course that they currently have an I grade in? â�¢ Can I grades show up on the degree audit?
