Retriever Robotics at RoboCEO CEOs and robotics... let's compete! Nominate yourself or a friend to be a leader for 2014-2015
The CWIT Student Council is accepting nominations for six leadership positions for the 2014-2015 school year.  Please see below for descriptions of the positions and e-mail Crystal Diaz (crystal@umbc.edu) or Marie Wagner (mwagner2@umbc.edu) if you would like to nominate yourself or someone else (but make sure they want to be nominated first!). 

Student Council Positions:
President: The duties of the President shall include being an effective leader for the CWIT Student Council and being an active voice in representing the CWIT community.  The President will also serve as the organization's official representative for communicating with the SGA and UMBC Staff. 

Vice President of Student Events: Responsible for planning and coordinating social and academic events.  Also responsible for sitting in one CWIT committees that are directly related to the CWIT community (social focus).

Vice President of Public Relations: Focuses on outreach in terms of other student organizations, academic or outside the community.  In charge of collaboration between other student orgs and the academic community overall.  Additional responsibilities will include sitting in on academic committees, such as Spring Into Leadership or Let's Get Techy. 

Treasurer: Manages the organization's funds and ensuring compliance with financial rules and guidelines.  Additionally the Treasurer is responsible for fund-raising events to help bolster CWIT events. 

Secretary: Keeps the CWIT community in touch with the decisions and the actions of the CWIT Student Council, and for getting constant and active feedback of the CWIT community with regards to the Student Council.  Additionally, the Secretary will help organize meetings and events and will aid the other officers in their duties. 

Media and Communications Officer: Takes photographs during events, puts together advertising campaigns, and maintains web presence.

Contest Rules:

  •   You must follow @UMBCCareers
  • Submit your photos via Twitter from April 4 at 9:00AM through April 11 at 11:59PM
  • Only 1 entry (1 photo) will be accepted per day per twitter handle
  • Only 3 entries per person per twitter handle will be accepted throughout the entire contest
  • 2-3 students with winning photos will be notified via email and Twitter between April 14-15
  • Below are some great types of shots you can take:

  1. Take a picture of yourself in your best professional attire at the Spring Career Fair

  2. Take a shot of you and your friends modelling a new work outfit  at UMBC Suits You

  3. Are you networking? Take a picture with a new contact you just met. (Only with their permission of course.)

  4. Get creative. Use filters if you wish and show your involvement/participation at the events you attend during Career Week.
