A recent column in The Washington Post argues the ongoing technical problems with the rollout of the Affordable Care Act in Maryland are unlikely to have a negative impact on Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown’s chances in the race for governor.

The article states Brown has six months until the Democratic primary to correct problems with the state’s health care exchange and has secured endorsements and support from almost all of the party establishment.

Political science assistant professor Laura Hussey was interviewed for the column and said the health exchange problems will likely fade away come election time.

“This is not a scandal that breaks important social mores or ethics. This isn’t something that is going to be a hot election issue . . . that’s going to fly in sound-bite politics,” Hussey said.

New technology allows software developers to create native mobile apps in industry standard C++ language.

Google brings fluid simulation to just about every platform out there, it’s open-source, its C++, it’s really kool, its LiquidFun!

Using a slash (/) in the Manifest files' FALLBACK section has the unfortunate side effect that typos in the URL path will cause the fallback resource to appear, instead of the 404/500 HTTP errors that should happen when online. Rob Gravelle presents one way of dealing with this issue so that the fallback resource does not come up when the user is in fact online.

I have a feeling the readers of CSS-Tricks represent a fairly wide range of job types and skill levels. It would be interesting to know how frequently used command line usage is amongst the general web worker population.

Call it what you will:

"Shell"
"Terminal"
"Command Line"

Or specifics like Bash/Dash/Zsh/Etc. In this poll we'll just call it the command line for consistency. It's the thing where you type in text commands and a computer does something.

I think probably the easiest metric to gather would be how much people use it. So let's make the question:

On average, how many commands do you run from the command line each work day?

Vote in the widget on the site itself. I broke the choices down into answers ranging from "not at all" to "pretty much your entire job" - but specifying actual numbers. Feel free to guess, but apparently there is a way to get an accurate count:
