Mario Kart Tournament (seb) - Tuesday, December 3rd 7pm-9pm.
Come out to the gameroom to participate in a mario kart tournament! Sign ups will go from 7:00-7:15 then we will start the tournament. The official tournament will be on the Wii, but we will have an N64 set up too for people to play with while they wait.
Open Mic Night (seb) - Thursday, December 5th 7pm-9pm.
Come down to the Sports Zone in the Commons and give the crowd your best impersonations!! There will also be pizza for everybody!!
Weekly Movie: The World's End - LH1 - Come out Thursday at 9 pm, Friday at 8 pm, or Saturday at 8 pm to see The World's End! Tickets for the Thursday and Friday showings are $2 and available at the CIC. Saturday's showing is free! Bring your friends and (seb) will bring the popcorn!
Sass Conf 2013 took place back on October 12th and 13th, and we were there to film it! We’re excited to be able to share all of the amazing speakers with you, with 15 sessions and over 12 hours of video! You’ll learn about things like cleaning up Sass projects, how GitHub uses Sass, and Sass tricks to make you more effective.

Come Learn about the National Archives Spring Internship!
Information Session, Thursday, December 5th
Do you have at least intermediate coding skills in Java? Are you interested in an extremely flexible internship this Spring in which you can perform on campus or at home?
National Archives and Records Administration is hosting an INFORMATION SESSION THURSDAY, December 5 from 5pm- 6pm in Commons 318 to share more about their great internship program.
The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) is responsible for preservation of the permanently valuable records of the federal government. With the advent of an electronic government, the records that are created are being transferred to NARA in a variety of complex and challenging formats. NARA is looking for assistance in developing a practical set of software tools, created through the use of best practices and agile and rapid development methods, which can be used by them and by all federal agencies to prepare such records for transfer, further processing, and preservation.
Well-defined requirements will be developed by NARA IT specialists, and the resulting software written by students will be tested by experienced NARA users. The experience will encompass translating these user requirements into practical, production-ready code. The applications that will be developed include a wide variety of interesting projects. In addition, the experience will offer the ability to gain experience in various aspects of the software development lifecycle, including source code management and adjudicating user feedback in version releases, all in a real-world, production environment.

Support UMBC on #GivingTuesday, 12/3
We’re just ONE day away from #GivingTuesday, a national day of giving tomorrow, December 3rd. The UMBC community is working to change the world, and on #GivingTuesday, you can help them do it.
Throughout the past month, we’ve shared stories of how our students, faculty, staff, and alumni are making a difference. We took a peek at how the Engineers Without Borders group will bring clean water to Isongo, Kenya. We tapped our feet to songs that will be on the Down and Dirty Dawg Band’s new CD. And we learned about UMBC’s mission to create a more inclusive campus through LGBTQ programs and initiatives.
Here are just a few things the people involved with those projects had to say:
