DESCRIPTION:
Enterra Solutions, LLC, has openings for Knowledge Quality Assurance Internship roles. Enterra’s platforms blend together a variety of disciplines and technologies (including but not limited to document management, artificial intelligence /ontology, “big data” analytics, database technology and business rules) and apply them to a broad spectrum of industries. The successful candidate(s) will be part of the Knowledge Team that analyzes, represents, encodes as well as maintains specific business domain knowledge and requirements within Enterra’s Solution-as-a-Service (SaaS) product offerings.

DUTIES:
Be part of a cross functional team that analyzes, represents, encodes as well as maintains specific business domain knowledge and requirements. Extract and enter knowledge in pre-determined templates that can be utilized for loading information into the applicable platforms. While this is not technical in nature, the position requires the ability to read, understand and extract such information from a variety of sources. In most cases this may consist of a relatively simple “translation” from one form of knowledge to another form. Associate / align food recipes to their appropriate ingredients using an internal tool. This one screen point-and-click tool will allow the user to read a recipe, review its ingredients and see potential and current matches between the actual recipe ingredient to what the Enterra platform has in its inventory. This includes reviewing ingredient brands, cooking and preparation methods if applicable. Review the quality and accuracy of previously created recipe to ingredient associations. Review outputs from the platform for quality. Perform other Quality Assurance tasks on Enterra applications as needed and directed. Assist in any appropriate documentation, including but not limited to User Manuals, specifications and process documents, if required. Perform to scheduled timelines. Participate in cross-functional meetings as appropriate. Perform necessary research as needed.

REQUIRED SKILLS:
Articulate and detail oriented. Excellent verbal communication skills. Strong documentation skills. Ability to quickly and robustly gain required knowledge of the Enterra platforms and ability to learn formalisms and/or essential concepts necessary. Work quickly and accurately in a fast paced production environment. Current college student (preferably technology related).

Here is your chance to be a part of the nationally recognized UMBC Student Government Association. An elected position in the SGA gives you the ability to have an amplified voice on campus issues, be involved in campus wide movements like BreakingGround, and represent your peers before everyone from Dr. Hrabowski to Governor Martin O’Malley.

But, maybe you’re still thinking, why should I (yes, you) run for SGA?

Being part of a student organization is the first step in getting involved and taking action on campus! You know how to engage your peers about important issues. In all, there are 20 positions to run for in SGA. In April the student body will select 11 Senators, 5 Finance Board Representatives, a Vice President for Student Organizations, a Treasurer, an Executive Vice President, and a President. Any one of those could be you!

For 125 years, tens of thousands of steel workers and associated personnel have known Sparrows Point Steel Mill (Baltimore County) not only as a place of employment, but as the center of community life, with special importance in the company towns of Dundalk and Sparrows Point. Created by the Pennsylvania Steel Company in 1887, and taken over by Bethlehem Steel in 1916, the mill became the world’s largest center for producing steel – evident in the girders of the Golden Gate, George Washington, and Bay Bridges – and for shipbuilding. As a key production site during both World Wars, Sparrows Point peaked during the 1960s and saw a gradual decline in the decades that followed. Though today it faces permanent closure, the mill remains a significant place that grounds a living heritage amongst former workers and community members, as well as a site that is deeply associated with a constellation of collective and personal memories. Accepting the award on behalf of the mill’s community are two Baltimore County oral historians, Louis Diggs and Elmer Hall, as well as theDundalk-Patapsco Neck Historical Society. Researching the history of African-Americans in Baltimore County for 17 years, Louis Diggs has also focused on the African-American neighborhood of Turner Station in Dundalk. His book, From the Meadows to the Point, is a compilation of memories and personal photographs of Turner Station residents, many of whom had worked at the mill over the course of the 20th century. Elmer Hall, who grew up in the company town of Sparrows Point, is also instrumental in recording the stories of local residents and steelworking families, as well as establishing a popular Sparrows Point reunion picnic for the past 7 years. Job Summary: Legg Mason's Information Technology department in Baltimore, MD (Harbor East) is offering full-time, paid, summer 2013 internships. Candidates must have completed their sophomore
year of college to qualify for this opportunity.

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work with business users to promote updated content (e.g., updated versions of PDF
documents)
- Update existing / develop new web pages
- Post updated videos to web sites
- Develop presentation templates used to generate web pages based on user entered data
Ideal Education and Experience:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information
Systems, or a related field
- Must have relevant work experience in information technology involving coding, and/or analysis.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to interact with all levels of employee both directly (i.e.
phone) and indirectly (i.e. email)
- Positive attitude, team player, and ability to work independently
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- HTML, JavaScript, CSS
