These instructions use the Advisement Activities section as a demonstration. You would use these steps to fill out any other single entry section.

1. In the To Be Completed section, click on the drop down arrow and select Advisement Activities.

2. Once the Advisement Activities screen appears, click Click here for Instructions under the title if you'd like to read brief instructions on this specific section. This feature is not exclusive to the Advisement Activities section. It can be found in any of the other sections.

3. All sections marked with an asterisk (*) MUST be completed. You will get an error for each item that should be completed and is not

4. Fill out each item, following the instructions provided in the section. To fill out these items, in the white boxes and start typing.
5. Once you are done, Click the Save this 'advisement activities' entry… button.

6. After the server saved your data, you should get a message on the top of your screen that says Results of your input: Data Received.

7. If you have made any mistakes after saving, you can simply change your data by clicking the Save this 'advisement activities' entry… button after you are done.
8. If you found that you filled the full section wrong and/or would like to completely erase the full section from the database, click on the little box next to Delete this entry from the database. Then click theSave this 'advisement activities' entry… button. You will then have to refill the form and save.

9. Click the Mark the advisement activities section as 'completed'… button when done. Marking this section as complete will move the advisement activities section from the To Be Completed menu to the Completed Sections menu.

10. Click OK when prompted.

You can access your Faculty Annual Report by logging in to myUMBC, and then choosing the Faculty Center.  The link to the Faculty Annual Report is in the section titled Personal Profile.

The first screen in the Faculty Annual Report is the Personal Profile. This screen is where all your work will originate. You can define which sections that apply to you, which sections that you need to complete, and which sections that you have already completed. In addition, it also keeps your personal information and the department to which you belong.

1. Check to see that your name is correct and completed. If it is incorrect or not completed, simply erase it by highlighting that specific section and retype it correctly.
2. Check to see if you are classified in the correct Department. If not, then click the arrow at the end of the Department tag and select your appropriate department.
3. Under Please check only the sections that apply to you, select the appropriate sections by clicking in the empty box next to the specified section. If a section is selected for you that you do not need, then click on the box to deselect that section. By checking a section, you are telling the FAR to track that section in the Completed / To Be Completed drop down boxes.
4. If you are not sure whether a section applies to you, you can click the section name for a brief description.
5. There are certain sections that have an asterisk (*) next to them. An asterisk means that the section is a multiple entry section.
   
6. Once you are done selecting the sections that apply to you, click the Apply Changes button. If you do not click this button, your changes will not be saved.
7. Click Ok on the Javascript application box.
8. The sections that you indicated by a check should be in the To Be Completed Section.
9. If you decide that you do not like what you selected and would like to restore the sections that were selected before, you can click the Reset button, and then the Apply Changes button.
