    <p>2013 Research Experience for<br>Undergraduates* *(REU) Program in Computational Sensing and Medical<br>Robotics* at The Johns Hopkins University in the Computer Integrated<br>Surgical Systems and Technology Engineering Research Center (CISST<br>ERC) / Laboratory for Computational Sensing and Robotics (LCSR). </p>
    <p>The<br>REU program is an intensive ten-week program of laboratory research<br>and instruction. In the program, each REU student receives hands-on<br>laboratory research experience under guidance from faculty and<br>graduate student mentors. The students will also receive classes on<br>ethics in research and technical communication. The students will have<br>the opportunity to tour a local government laboratory and a private<br>company. *The students will be provided housing and a stipend of<br>$4,500 for the 10-week period will be paid.*<br><br>I would greatly appreciate, if you can pass on to your students the<br>promotional flyer that I am sending with this communication. <Title>How do I setup my Android to connect to my UMBC Webmail (Cyrus)?</Title>

            <h2>Tell Me</h2>
    <ol>
    <li>Open <strong>Email</strong> on the home screen. If you already have other email accounts set up on Android, press the menu button (between the home and back buttons on the phone) and select <strong>Accounts</strong>. Press the menu button again, and then select <strong>Add Account</strong> (select More Settings to find Add Account, if necessary).</li>
    <li>In the <strong>Email address:</strong> field, enter your full UMBC email address - <a href="mailto:username@umbc.edu" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">username@umbc.edu</a>.</li>
    <li>In the <strong>Password</strong> field, enter your UMBC email password.</li>
    <li>In the bottom left-hand corner, select <strong>Manual</strong>, and then select <strong>IMAP account</strong>.</li>
    <li>In the <strong>Username</strong> field, enter your full UMBC email address - <a href="mailto:username@umbc.edu" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">username@umbc.edu</a>
    </li>
    <li>In the IMAP Server field, enter <em>imap.umbc.edu</em>
    </li>
    <li>Change Security type to <strong>SSL</strong> Port will automatically change to <strong>993</strong> </li>
    <li>Leave the IMAP path prefix field blank</li>
    <li>Hit <strong>Next</strong>. You will briefly see the "Checking Incoming Server Settings" screen. </li>
    <li>In the SMTP server field, enter <strong>smtp.umbc.edu</strong>
    </li>
    <li>Change Security type to <strong>SSL</strong>, and in the Port field, enter <strong>465</strong> </li>
    <li>Make sure that <em>Require sign-in</em> is checked.</li>
    <li>The "Username" and "Password" fields should already be filled. If not, enter your information, as detailed in steps 3 and 5 above. </li>
    <li>Hit Next. You will briefly see the "Checking Outgoing Server Settings" screen.</li>
    <li>Next to "Email checking frequency", select how often you would like your phone to check for new messages.</li>
    <li>Next to "Give this account a name (optional)", you can enter a name like UMBC Email.</li>
    <li>To receive a notification when you receive email, check Notify me when email arrives.In the "Your name" field, enter your full name.</li>
    <li>Click Done.</li>

<Title>How do I add a myUMBC Group to display News, Events, and Spotlights on my site in sites.umbc.edu?</Title>

                                <p>Your myUMBC Group must have its Access setting set to Open or Closed in order for your content to be pulled into your site.</p>
                        </div>

                                <p>Note that there may be a delay of up to 30 minutes from when you post/edit content in myUMBC until it is shown on your site.</p>
                        </div>

    <h2>Tell me</h2>
    <p>Your site can display spotlights, news, and events created in your myUMBC group.</p>
    <ol>
    <li>From your site dashboard, hover over the <strong>Appearance</strong> link in the left-hand sidebar and click the <strong>UMBC</strong> link</li>
    <li>Scroll down to the bottom of this page, and find the <strong>myUMBC Group Token</strong> text field</li>
    <li>Enter your myUMBC Group token (see: <a href="https://wiki.umbc.edu/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=31201187" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">What is a myUMBC Group Token?</a>)</li>
    <li>Click the blue <strong>Save Changes</strong> link at the bottom of the page. Now, you can use the myUMBC widgets and Page Templates so that your myUMBC Group content automatically shown on your site.</li>
    </ol>
    <div><p>You can also set a Page to use the myUMBC News or myUMBC Events Templates (see: <a href="https://wiki.umbc.edu/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=30541528" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">How do I create and edit pages in sites.umbc.edu?</a>), which will automatically show myUMBC Events/News within your site. If you also use a myUMBC News or myUMBC Events widget (see: <a href="https://wiki.umbc.edu/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=30541542" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">What are "Widgets" and how do I use them in sites.umbc.edu?</a>), they will link to this page rather than to myUMBC.</p></div>
