5. Select Computing & Technology
6. Enter Confluence wiki space request on the Subject: field
7. Select Web Development on the field labeled DoIT-Information Technology
8. Include the following information in the Describe the issue below:text area
   • Desired spacekey - Each space has a unique identifier called the spacekey. This is generally a three to four letter abbreviation for your new space
   • Desired space name
   • Brief description of the space
   • Designated space owner
9. Click Create Ticket button

The location of the Add a comment link will depend on the Confluence theme deployed on the page.

A comment is a remark, question, or any other additional information you wish to add to a page pertaining to the topic the page covers. Comments are a means by which a community of users can collaborate with each other on the site. You can leave a comment on any page or news item in Confluence.

Comments have the same editing options and use the same editor as pages. When you attach a file to a comment, however, it attaches the file to the page, not the comment.

1. Go to the Confluence wiki page you want to comment
2. Click the Add a comment link on the bottom of the page
   OR
3. Click Add on the top, right-hand corner of the screen and select Comment
4. Type in your text/comment
5. Click the Post button to save your comment on that page

To log in and access the administrative features for your site, such as adding new pages or making customizations, you need to:

1. Go to http://sites.umbc.edu and click the Login link on the page
2. Log in using your UMBC username and password
3. Once logged in, hover over the My Sites link in the top left corner and click on the name of your site
   

Clicking on the name of your site in the menu will take you to your Site Dashboard, which serves as the launching point for all administrative functions for your site.

You can request a site for your Department or Organization by following these steps:

1. Visit http://sites.umbc.edu
2. Click the Create a Ticket button on the right-hand side of the page
3. In the Subject field, type "Requesting a new site in sites.umbc.edu"
4. In the Issue Description, include the following information:
   1. The Website URL you want to use for your site (Must be a UMBC sub-domain, for example http://example.umbc.edu and not http://umbc.edu/example or not http://example.com)
   2. The name of the Department / Organization the site is for
   3. The full name and UMBC campus ID of the primary person responsible for this site
   4. The full name and UMBC campus ID of any additional people who need administrative access to edit the site

Color, black & white and duplex printing are available in all computer labs in the Engineering building. Color printing is 70 cents per page and black & white is 10 cents per page.

All printing charges are handled through the campus Pay for Print Management System (Pharos). Use your UMBC red Campus card to pay for printing.

The labs below can be reserved for classes (either on an ad hoc basis or for the whole semester) on a first-come, first-served basis by submitting an RT Ticket to the Office of the Registrar.  For all other events in these rooms, please contact UMBC Events at their website (http://events.umbc.edu) or by E-mail at schedule@umbc.edu.

Please read this information if you need to have software installed in the lab for your event.  There is a minimum lead time of approximately 6 weeks needed for software installation.

*Scheduling is on a case-by-case basis

1. Verify that the software you need is listed in the lab image inventory. 
   1. Click here to see the list of software installed on the PC labs
   2. Click here to see the list of software installed on the Mac labs
   3. Click here to see the list of software installed on the Linux labs
      
      
2. Go to the computer lab where your class will be held and check if the software you need is installed on the machines
   
   
3. If the software  is NOT currently installed,  please enter an RT ticket to request your software (see deadlines above for each semester)
   
   
4. For ALL software requests, please submit a copy of the software and the following documents to DoIT for review:

• Licensing documents such as End User License Agreements (EULA)
• Technical support documents with technical requirements (including specific version of software requested), and installation and configuration instructions
• Testing script for assessing correct installation and configuration of software
• Provide documentation showing the number of licenses purchased and any additional installation codes or instructions provided by the vendor

Before purchasing software:

• 1. Read the license agreement and verify the software permits network installation
  2. Have license reviewed by University Counsel
  3. Read the user documentation
  4. Submit as above
     
     

Be prepared to test your software upon notification by DoIT.   It is the responsibility of the individual faculty member to check that the software is functioning as requested in the reserved computer lab prior to the start of their class.
