Career opportunities at NSA, 6-8pm Tue 9/25
On Tuesday, September 25, professionals from the National Security Agency will visit UMBC for a Computer Science Career Event hosted by NSA's Office of Recruitment and Dr. Claudia Pearce, NSA/CSS Senior Computer Science Authority. The session is geared toward upper divison Computer Science, Engineering, and Information Systems majors, as well as graduate students. It will be held in the University Center Ballroom Lounge (3rd Floor) from 6-8 p.m.

PRIZES OPEN DATA SCHEDULE
Hackers, data analysts, concerned citizens! Lend me your ear!
Join us for Groundwork, an important event uniting the awesome power of Baltimore’s tech community with organizations and people who could greatly benefit from access to open data and the technological skills to analyze it.
Groundwork is a new way of mobilizing change at a local level. (Check out the schedule here.) It’s a collaboration of policy makers, developers, local educators, and concerned citizens who will come together to analyze the pressing needs of Baltimore, mash up a giant pot of data, and come out with multiple solutions that can help solve some of the City’s biggest problems.
This is an opportunity affect critical change in Baltimore by working together with organizations in need, the federal Department of Health and Human Services, Governor’s offices (both of whom will open never-before-seen data sets at Groundwork,) and the Mayor’s office.
Come help us make a real difference. (Plus, there’ll be food and prizes!)

New Consultants are hired into either technical or functional roles within specific account and/or project teams. Specific roles are listed below:
Technical Developers and Technical Analysts
•Create systems design utilizing client requirements

Requirements include are but not limited to: academic experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a similar major with extensive software-based or technical content; strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills with a demonstrated interest in technology and business.

•Tracking, testing and documentation of defects
•On-site client consulting and support
•Writing program and system user manuals and/or training materials
Requirements include but are not limited to: academic experience in business related majors such as Finance, Accounting, Management Information Systems, IS/IT and other majors that include consulting and technology coursework; strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills with a demonstrated interest in technology and business.
