    <p>The Spring semester is about to begin!<span>  </span>I hope that you have enjoyed your winter break, and are ready to return to classes.<span>  </span>I just have a few things for you to think about over the next week or so:</p>
    <p><span><span>1)<span>      </span></span></span>Our next group mentoring meeting – vote for a day and time in this Doodle poll: <a href="http://www.doodle.com/xvs4datwwgkq37fi" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><u>http://www.doodle.com/xvs4datwwgkq37fi</u></a></p>
    <p><span><span>2)<span>      </span></span></span>Double-check your Spring 2012 schedule for:</p>
    <p><span><span>a.<span>       </span></span></span>Eligibility for each class – you all need grades of “C” or better in your pre-requisite courses, but some of you need better than a “C” in certain classes in your major. Make adjustments ASAP!</p>
    <p><span><span>b.<span>      </span></span></span>Room changes made since you originally signed up for classes.</p>
    <p><span><span>c.<span>       </span></span></span>Wait list status – remember that wait list credits DO NOT count toward your full-time standing. If you need to be full-time, make sure that you are ENROLLED in at least 12 credits.</p>
    <p><span><span>3)<span>      </span></span></span>Check out our <a href="http://my.umbc.edu/groups/icubedstaffmentor" rel="nofollow external" class="bo"><u>myUMBC Group page</u></a>! In addition to iCubed announcements, our Group page also highlights events from the Career Services Center, the Shriver Center, Undergraduate Research, and many more campus resources!<span>  </span>You’ll have to accept the myUMBC invitation to join the group in order to access all of the functions (check your UMBC email account, or go to the Group’s home page to do so).</p>

    <p><strong><span>Responsibilities &amp; Qualifications</span></strong></p>
    <p><span>CareFirst is looking for someone who
    is a self-starter and can work independently with little direction.  This
    position may include the following duties: Analyze market and segment
    competitors.  Market research on segments and products within the
    CareFirst geographic region.  Understand insurance products
    in-depth.  Formulate excel spreadsheets and calculate comparisons. 
    Create graph and charts to demonstrate marketing strategy.  Create
    PowerPoint presentations.  Attend meetings.  The intern is an
    integral member of the Product/Segment Management Team.<br>
    <br>
    CareFirst is looking for someone who can commit to at least three days per week
    (up to 20 hours) during the spring semester, full-time is preferred in the
    summer.</span></p>
    <p><span>Must be a student enrolled in an
    accredited college or university at either the junior/senior level, either at
    the graduate or undergraduate level<br>
    GPA of 3.25 or above<br>
    Majors:  Marketing, Business, or related field<br>
    Intermediate to advanced skills using MS Office applications (PowerPoint and
    Excel) and on-line, internet/intranet tools and search engines<br>
    Strong analytical and information organization skills are essential<br>
    Strong written and verbal communication skills<br>
    Ability to work independently or in a team environment to accomplish assigned
    tasks<br>
    Analytical skills are critical.  Must have an excellent working knowledge
    of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet.<br>

    <p>Lansdowne Community Association president <strong>Brian Bailey ’07</strong>, public policy, is moving to Arizona, taking with him a wealth of devotion to a town he’s called home his entire life, the <em>Baltimore Sun</em> reports.</p>
    <blockquote>
    <p>“It’s the personal relationships here that I’ll miss the most,” Bailey said. “I’m excited to continue hearing about the things that are happening here.</p>
    <p>“Lansdowne will always be my home,” Bailey said…”</p>
    </blockquote>
    <p>Over the years, Bailey has served on numerous community committees in Lansdowne, as well as serving as chairman of the Baltimore County <a title="Democratic Party" href="http://www.baltimoresun.com/topic/politics/parties-movements/democratic-party-ORGOV0000005.topic" rel="nofollow external" class="bo">Democratic Party</a>, co-chairman of the Southwest Area Educational Advisory Council, treasurer of the Southwest Leadership Team and chair of a committee for the Wilkens Police and Community Relations Organization.</p>
    <p>Bailey, public policy manager for the American Urological Society, will leave for Phoenix next month where he will head up the Arizona Petroleum Marketers Association.</p>
