Join us for MTCs annual fall showcase! This year's theme is Heroes versus Villains. Our showcase is a collection of student-directed musical numbers that fall into this year's theme. Including songs from Hamilton, Tangled, and more!! 

When: Friday ,October 18th at 8pm and Saturday October 19th at 2pm and 8pm
Where: Fine Arts Recital Hall
How much does it cost?: Tickets are FREE for UMBC students and cost $7 for general admission

If you have any interest in being the director for any of the following shows listed below please fill out the director interest form. By filling out this form you are not making a commitment to direct. This form is being used to gauge interest and if you fill it out and decide later on in the semester that you are not interested then that is okay. This is not an official director application.

The actuarial profession is often highly rated in terms of compensation, stress levels, and overall job satisfaction. Here's a chance to talk to an actuary, ask him about the profession, and find out if this might be a good fit for you. For those that attended the first session, this one will dive deeper into company versus consulting and life insurance versus property and casualty insurance, with more focus on the day in the life for each type of actuary. As before, please bring questions!

Yom Kippur starts tonight, 10/11 at sunset and ends tomorrow, 10/12 at sundown. So what exactly is Yom Kippur?

Yom Kippur is our day of atonement. It takes place 10 days after Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year. In these 10 days, we ask those we have wronged over the past year for forgiveness. It is believed that the Books of Life and Death are opened on Rosh Hashanah and sealed on Yom Kippur.

On Yom Kippur, we aim to divorce ourselves from the mundane world in order to focus on repentance and our relationships with others and G-d.
Fasting is a common practice—those who cannot fast for their mental or physical health should not. Other practices include refraining from washing, sexual relations, or wearing leather. Additionally, many attend services, which focus on reflection and remembrance of the past year.

The traditional greeting for Yom Kippur is “Gmar chatima tova,” (pronounced guh-MAHR khah-tee-MAH toe-VAH) which literally translates to “a good sealing.” This is in reference to our fates being sealed in the Book of Life for the year on Yom Kippur. Some may wish others a meaningful or easy fast. However, not all those who observe Yom Kippur can or do fast, so please be mindful if you chose to say this.

I am particularly interested in a Spanish-speaking macro social work student because many of the communities we serve are primarily Spanish-speaking. As a recent graduate with an MSW in Community Action and Social Policy, this position will help you gain direct experience in community outreach, marketing, event coordination, and stakeholder engagement, all crucial for advancing in the field.


Position Details:


After completing the outreach phase, you'll help connect community members with relevant EV resources and stakeholders. Ideal for students pursuing macro roles, this position will provide real-world experience in community action and policy.
