Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship Opportunities Soooooo Much Money Up For Grabs!!!! Claim it NOW!
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi currently awards fifty Fellowships of $8,500 each, six at $20,000 each, and two at $35,000 each to members entering the first year of graduate or professional study. Each active Phi Kappa Phi chapter may select one candidate from among its local applicants to compete for the Society-wide awards.

Established in 1932, the Fellowship Program annually provides funding to first-year graduate students who are pursuing post-baccalaureate degrees across all academic disciplines. Endorsed by their local chapter, Phi Kappa Phi Fellows go on to study at some of the nation's top graduate schools.

National Level:
  • Two Fellowships at $35,000 each
  • Six Fellowships at $20,000 each
  • Fifty Fellowships at $8,500 each

Fellowships are awarded to PKP members entering first year of graduate or professional study (must have completed less than 10 graduate hours)

Fellowship applications must be downloaded, completed and submitted directly to Chapter 22 UMBC (email to hcudzilo@umbc.edu) by March 30, 2024

One nomination will be selected by Chapter 22 UMBC and submitted to the National Office April 30, 2024

The chapter's nominee will automatically receive a $1000 award regardless of standing in the national competition. REALLY!!

The Marilyn Demorest Love of Learning Award is bestowed in recognition of the many significant contributions made by Dr. Marilyn Demorest as a key founder and seminal leader of Chapter 22 UMBC of Phi Kappa Phi.  Dr. Demorest's clear-eyed determination, detailed planning, and appreciation of both tradition and innovation infused the infant chapter with the carefully-built scaffolding needed for it to grow into the chapter we enjoy today.  Marilyn's dedication to PKP and her own love of learning are the foundation for this award.


Each spring, this chapter invites applications from its graduate student members. Two $500 awards will be distributed each year to the selected awardees.

Eligibility criteria for the award are as follows:  
(1)   Each graduate student applicant shall be a current member of Chapter 22 UMBC

(2)   Each graduate student applicant shall be selected on the basis of academic excellence as demonstrated by outstanding grades, academic honors, awards and recognition, and activities in the University or in the Community as well as through a clearly articulated essay (no more than 500 words) explaining what the PKP Motto means to them:

(3)   Each graduate student applying for the Marilyn Demorest Love of Learning Award must complete and submit the online application form no later than March 30, 2024

The winning applicant(s) will be notified by email by the end of April 2024.

We will have our first Training GBM where we will be making Valentine's Day cards for our homeless community. This will take place Monday, February 12th from 12-1 pm in ILSB 301.
Stop by and learn how to give back to the community and join us for training on blood pressure screenings. Once you are trained, you are one step closer to volunteering!

Are you passionate about statistics and ready to take your academic and professional journey to the next level? Mu Sigma Rho, the Honor Society for Statistics Students, is here to support and recognize your excellence.

Membership Criteria:

Undergraduate:

      • Completion of at least 2 years of college coursework.
      • Completion of at least 8 semester hours (or 12 quarter hours) of statistics courses, with a minimum of 5 semester hours (or 7 quarter hours) at the junior level.
      • Attainment of a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.40 (on a 4.0 scale) in all undergraduate level statistics courses.
      • Maintenance of a GPA of at least 3.20 (on a 4.0 scale) in all undergraduate level courses.

Graduate:

      • Completion of at least 12 semester hours (or 18 quarter hours) of graduate-level statistics courses.
      • Attainment of a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) in all graduate-level statistics courses.
      • Enrollment as a graduate student in good standing.

Membership Benefits:
