RSVP for Change Makers Dinner | 3/6 5:30-7:30 p.m.
A conversation about voting rights and voter protection
On Wednesday, March 6, the Center for Democracy and Civic Life will host the spring 2024 Change Makers Dinner. Members of the UMBC community will join for dinner to talk with leaders working to protect voting rights and ensure fairness in processes related to elections. This event will take place from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. (Harbor Hall: Multipurpose Room). The Center for Democracy and Civic Life will provide a free catered dinner.
We have confirmed the following Change Makers:
- Donald Sherman, Executive Vice President and Chief Counsel, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW)
- Kayvan Farchadi, Counsel, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW)
- Kathryn Quintin, Deputy Director, Campus Vote Project, Fair Elections Center
- Sarah Brannon, Managing Attorney, American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Voting Rights Project
- Catherine Fish, Managing Director, ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge
The theme of this semester's program is voting rights and voter protection. Change Makers Dinner is organized by UMBC's Center for Democracy and Civic Life in partnership with the Student Government Association, the Graduate Student Association, the Political Science Council of Majors, the Office of Government Relations and Community Affairs, the Department of Political Science, and the School of Public Policy.
Space at this event is limited, so please reserve your spot as soon as possible.

*REPOST* Upcoming Fulbright Accelerators for Faculty
For Social Sciences and Arts Faculty
The CAHSS Creative Achievement and Research Administration Team (CARAT) is hosting two upcoming Fulbright Accelerator Workshops in partnership with the Center for Global Engagement.
The Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program,
the largest educational exchange program funded by the U.S. Department
of State, provides opportunities for research, teaching or both in the
social sciences and the arts.
During these hour-long workshops, Dr. Brian Souders,
UMBC's Fulbright Scholar Liaison in the Center for Global Engagement,
will introduce the Fulbright program to interested faculty, explore ways
to create a competitive application, and discuss UMBC internal support
throughout the application process. Rachel Brubaker, Associate
Director for Research Development at CARAT, will discuss CARAT's support and
the application routing process.

Master BR Available for Occupancy for 1-2 People
Hi! We're looking for 1-2 roommates to live in the master bedroom in a 3 bedroom luxury 1464 sq. ft. apartment called Avalon Arundel Crossing. It is 12 minutes away from campus. The master bedroom is a 12x12, has a walk-in closet, and a private bathroom. The apartment contains a very spacious, furnished living room with a dining room that has been converted into a study area. The kitchen has ample cabinet and drawer space (microwave, oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher included). Comes with washer/dryer. There's free parking, secure Amazon hub lockers for packages, and bike storage. The complex has a pool, a game-room, a cookout area, a fireplace, a computer room (includes printer), and a leisure space to chill with friends, host events, etc. Our community is also pet friendly and has dog parks. All the buildings have secure, controlled access. It is located in a safe neighborhood in Anne Arundel County with multiple restaurants within walking distance and even more at Glen Burnie's shopping center just 9 minutes away. We own a 2 year old medium sized, well-mannered dog that keeps to himself. You would be living with the two of us (woman and man) who each have our own rooms and a bathroom.
