The CBIC Is Around the Corner! It's time to start preparing for the annual Cangialosi Business Innovation Competition!
The CBIC is designed for students who are serious about starting a business or social impact venture. Students selected to go to the final competition will be paired with mentors to flesh out their business idea. This year, the Center will offer 2 tracks: The Technology and Innovation Track and The Social Impact Track. Winners in each track will win up to $3,000 with an opportunity to win an additional $2,000 after a 6 month progress review. Here are the important dates to remember:
- Deadline for idea submissions: February 26 at 1pm
- Final Event: April 11 from 7 - 9pm

Student Affairs is excited to offer the UMBC community a 1-day skills-based training course designed to teach participants how to:
**recognize signs of mental health or substance use disorders.
**identify community resources.
**link people in crisis to the proper resources.
The course will consist of a 2-hour self-paced introduction course online, followed by a 6-hour virtual skills session with Mental Health First Aid instructors. You will learn a 5-step action plan and practice applying it throughout the skills section of the course.
Space is limited! You must register NO LATER than one week prior to the date of the training.

MCAT Content Review is back in full swing for this semester. Dariush, a current senior Biochemistry student will be leading weekly 2-3 hour MCAT Content Review sessions starting next Wednesday, on February 7th, 2024 at 6 PM in Sondheim 105.
The content focus will be Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Physics. You will be able to bring your own questions as well. We have also made a new 2024 Discord, so share it with anyone who is currently studying or is planning to study for the MCAT soon. Put any suggestions, requests, and content questions pertaining to the MCAT in the Discord.

LEGALLY BLONDE CAST AUDITIONS:
Oh my God you guys! It's finally time for auditions! This is what you need to know before you send in your amazing application to Yale- I mean audition for our spring production of Legally Blonde the Musical!
There are two ways for you to audition; virtually or in person.
VIRTUAL AUDITIONS
If you plan to audition virtually, you are required to send in two videos, a 60-second video of you singing your audition song and a video of yourself dancing with the provided choreography located in the Google form linked below. This choreography is completely different from the choreography learned for in-person auditions. Virtual auditions must be sent in by Friday, February 9th at 3pm.
IN-PERSON AUDITIONS
In-person auditions will take place on two days, February 9th and February 10th.
At the GBM on the 9th, Morgan, the choreographer for Legally Blonde, will be teaching the in-person audition choreography. For those who cannot make it to the GBM that day, there will be a video posted on our myUMBC page for those to learn. February 9th GBM will be in the RAC room 130 from 12pm to 12:50pm.
Starting at 3pm on the 9th, vocal auditions will begin in room FA 318. Prepare a 30-60 song that you will sing for our creative team. Vocal auditions will be held from 3pm to 6pm. Sign up for a slot using the Signup Genius link in the audition form.
On February 10th from 10am to 11:30am, we will be holding dance auditions. This will give applicants time to practice the choreography learned the day prior at the GBM or through the video posted on our myUMBC page.The video that is provided in the application form is NOT the choreography that you will perform for the creative team. Sing up for a slot using the signup genius link in the audition form.

Legally Blonde Cast Audition Form
All UMBC Library users have access to the online SAGE Campus database in the month of February. Sage Campus is a suite of online learning materials for social science research methods. It has 37 self-paced online courses on quantitative and qualitative research topics such as data literacy, data science, research skills, and getting published.
