Hey CyberDawgs,

Our weekly club meetings continue tonight from 7:10 PM to 9:00 PM. However, our meeting tonight will be slightly different from the previous ones. Our guest speaker will be joining us virtually on Webex instead of in-person, https://umbc.webex.com/meet/CyberDawgs. We will have ENG 231 open for those who want a space to meet-up and watch the meeting. However, feel free to join the meeting virtually if you want. 

Tonight, you will have the chance to hear our guest speaker share their experiences within cybersecurity criminal prosecution. This will be a unique opportunity to learn about a non-technical but critical part of cybersecurity.

As a reminder, this week's submissions for the CyberPaws CTF challenge will close at the start of tonight's meeting. Remember to submit your flag! Also, if you would like a hint, you can DM a board member to receive one.

Dear Colleagues,

Although I have been at UMBC for only a relatively short time, I have already been thoroughly impressed by the talent and dedication that surrounds me. Every day, I see or hear about wonderful work being done by our staff, so many of whom go above and beyond to make UMBC a welcoming, meaningful home for our students.

That is why I am writing to encourage you to nominate a colleague for a staff award this year by the deadline of October 31. Any staff or faculty member can make a nomination, so please take a moment and think about a deserving staff member you might nominate for one of these awards:

  • UMBC Presidential Distinguished Staff Awards
  • University System of Maryland Board of Regents' Staff Awards
  • Jakubik Family Endowment Staff Award for Exempt or Non-Exempt Staff
  • Karen L. Wensch Endowment Award for Outstanding Non-Exempt Staff
  • Teresa Lupinek Endowment Award for Exempt or Non-Exempt Staff
