2023 AP Scores will start being released by the College Board the week of July 3rd. Even if you requested scores be sent to UMBC it still may take up to a few weeks for those scores to be received, processed, and evaluated.

Until the course equivalency is listed in your course history you won't be able to use it as a prerequisite to make schedule changes on your own. You can check to see if the course has been fully evaluated by going to myUMBC - Profile- Grades- Course History.

However, advisors may be able to help you make schedule adjustments soon after you have received your scores.

First, you should consult our AP transfer Policies to confirm that you will be receiving credit for your score.

Next, you will need to use the schedule planner to put together a new schedule. All overrides are issued on specific sections so you will need to know exactly which section(s) you want to register for each new course. COEIT advisors can help with this process. You can schedule an appointment here.

Once you have the section information you will need to reach out to the appropriate department to receive permission.

All communication must include your name, ID, specific section information, a screenshot of the required AP score, and if you are sending an email it must come from your UMBC email account.

For Physics permissions: Physics@umbc.edu

COEIT Advisors "Virtual" in July

Though we are not in our offices we are still here to help!
Due to renovations occurring on the second floor of the ITE Building COEIT advisors will be working remotely for most of July. No in person appointments are available starting July 1st unless specific arrangements are made in advance.

Advisors will continue to be available electronically. 

An announcement will be posted when we have a specific return to office date. 

Current UMBC students and incoming students who have already attended orientation can reach advisors via email and can schedule virtual advising appointments.  Information about how to contact an advisor can be found here.

Due to renovations occurring on the second floor of the ITE Building COEIT advisors will be working remotely for most of July. No in person appointments are available starting July 1st unless specific arrangements are made in advance.

Advisors will continue to be available electronically. 

An announcement will be posted when we have a specific return to office date. 

Current UMBC students and incoming students who have already attended orientation can reach advisors via email and can schedule virtual advising appointments.  Information about how to contact an advisor can be found here.
