Dear UMBC Community,

The Sherman Hall renovation project will be starting soon. In preparation for this, our contractor, Whiting-Turner, is beginning to establish the staging area for this project. This staging area is immediately behind the Administration Building and will consume most of the grassy area between Admin and the bus stop. The attached renderings show how this area will be used.

Whiting-Turner has already begun to install fencing around their construction staging area and will continue to modify this area over the next few weeks. Signage to redirect pedestrian traffic around Sherman Hall will be installed as well. The bus stop will still be accessible. Whiting-Turner will make every effort to save the large, mature tree within their fenced area.

Upon completion of the renovation in late 2026, this area will be restored as a grassy area with trees similar to its appearance before the renovation project. If you have any questions, please reach out to Stacy Brian, sbrian@umbc.edu. Thank you!

Looking for Room

<Tagline>Looking for apartments to share with other females!</Tagline>

Hello! My name is Gabriela, and I am transferring to UMBC as a junior to continue majoring in computer science for my B.S. I am currently looking for other female roommates to share an apartment for a year's lease, with a private bedroom for myself. While a private bathroom would be cool, I recognize it may be ambitious for the price range most are looking for, so I do not mind sharing one with one other person! Desired price range is $400-$650, and including me, 3 roommates max. If you are looking for someone to fulfill an existing lease, I am totally willing to hear about any offers and offer flexibility myself price-wise depending on the place.

I do have a car, so farther distances/proximity to bus stops is not too much of an issue. I am very clean and orderly, as well as laid back (not a stickler for having friends over from time to time). I also enjoy creative things such as drawing, sewing, and fashion, as well as playing games on my PC. Feel free to send me a request to my IG @gabrielabr00k to see a little into my life! :)

I would prefer no pets, and no drugs, smoking, or parties (again, get-togethers with friends are fine). I will be working while attending college, so I will most likely be in and out of the house many days out of the week.

Please email gschwee1@umbc.edu or comment on this post if interested. Fall semester is approaching, so I hope to be able to move in early September latest!
