Tell us about your internship, co-op, or research opportunity, including your day-to-day responsibilities.
I am tasked with creating advertising materials for Career Center events, which includes creating posters, flyers, Instagram, web banners ad and thumbnails.
Describe the process of obtaining your position. When did you hear of the position and submit your application?
In March of 2022, I saw the post for the position on UMBCworks, which is now Handshake. I applied and received an email for scheduling an interview. After the interviewing process I later received an emailing offering me the position.
Which of the following resources did you use to find your current experience?

What have you enjoyed the most about your position or organization?
My favorite part of this position is being able to use my creative skills to problem solve when developing advertisements. I also appreciate getting experience developing works that have to follow a style guide.
How do you believe you have made an impact through your work?
I feel I made effective advertisements that allowed students to learn about helpful events run by the Career Center.
What advice would you give to another student who is seeking an internship or similar experience?
Make sure to track and document all works you create during your internship, and make sure to manage your time well and stay organized.
Please provide a short reflection or quote about what you liked most about your position / earning internship credit / working with the Career Center.
This opportunity provided me with amazing experience in my industry of choice, which is something I can't obtain in a classroom.

Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, Vice-President of Student Operations, Events and Volunteer Coordinator
You are able to run for multiple positions. The deadline of the application is at 11:59 P.M. on Saturday, April 29th. Moreover, the voting will be held asynchronously. We will send out a Google Form with all of the candidates running to be elected for you to choose. It is imperative that all members of the society vote in the elections. Below are the responsibilities of each board position.
The Vice President's responsibilities include:
Managing member recruitment/retention
Managing fundraising
Developing and managing projects
Assuming the role of President in the event of the President's absence or incapacity. This is especially important next year because the president will graduate at the end of the Fall 2023 semester
The Treasurer's responsibilities include:
Managing fundraising
Managing the organization's funds and ensuring compliance with all financial rules and guidelines
The Secretary's responsibilities include:
Managing public relations
Recording and archiving information from meetings and activities
The Vice-President of Student Operations' responsibilities include:
Assist the President and Vice President with management of the peer mentorship program
Managing member input, polls and serving as a more direct liaison between the general body and the executive board
The Events and Volunteer Coordinator's responsibilities include:
Organize and assist the President and Vice President with events management
Communicate with local organizations about volunteering and help set up meaningful opportunities for members

It's that time of the year again! If you are interested in being a part of the
e-board next year, please fill out our interest form! Our available positions are Vice President, Treasurer,

Fill this out by Wednesday, April 26th if you would like to run. We will
be sending out a voting form the next morning so make sure you fill out the
interest form or else you will not be able to run.
Also, a couple of other things to keep in mind if you are interested in
running:
1. You must be an enrolled undergraduate student at UMBC. Graduate students and
faculty cannot hold any of our E-Board positions.
2. You must have previously been a member of this club for at least one
semester at UMBC.
3. You must be able to commit to at least one full year on the E-Board. The term
starts May 1st, 2023 and ends May 1st, 2024.
4. If you are interested in running for more than one position, please complete
separate forms for each position you are interested in.
