In February, our wellness initiative is focused on heart health and we offer a Cardio 101 class with Alea Burke in the RAC for all ages and life stages. We continue our Work-Life Wellbeing series with a custom built program on Discovering Your Work-Life Balance based on focus group feedback.
A few events of particular note:

We continue our series on Work-Life Wellbeing. Throughout the spring, we will have one event per month that will focus on the balance we all strive to hold between our work lives and our home lives. February will focus on that integration of the two facets of our lives with Work-Life Wellbeing: Discovering Your Work-Life Balance. This is an experiential 3-hour session that moves the participant from abstract to creating an individualized plan of action.

We have revamped our PMP Training for Supervisors and are rolling out sessions on both February 16th and March 14th with Michale S. Tallon, Director of Employee/Labor Relations. If you are a new supervisor looking for training in anticipation of giving your first PMP, or a seasoned manager looking for a refresher, this is the training for you!

Also in February, we will continue our series on communication skills with Active Listening. This session is a collaboration with Mary Ogan from Bowie State and will be open to both campuses.

March: Our collaboration with the USM Learning & Talent Development Committee will bring a mini-conference on Performance Review Prep! This half day mini-conference pulls sessions from our EAP Provider, Guidance Resources and ComPsych and includes sessions for both supervisors and their staff to get ready for productive PMP discussions.

Each member gets to participate in our Big/Little system, a student mentorship experience where new members gets paired with an upperclassman member who can provide useful personal mentoring!

Networking: PhiDE connects its premedical student members with its medical students, practicing physicians, and emeritus members through whom the premedical student members can gain first-hand information about the medical profession. All our members have exclusive access to this database and can network with any PhiDE alumni around the world.

Discounts: As a PhiDE member you will have access to several discounts on educational study prep, traveling, insurance, and much more. The international fraternity is partnered with Kaplan, Osmosis.org, and Brooks Brothers, to name a few.
