Join hackUMBC for our 24-hour hackathon event where we challenge our ideas to come to life! Collaborate with other students and pick up some new skills in our workshop sessions!
With lots of fun activities, over $5,000 in prizes, and swag for all participants, you will be in for an exciting weekend.
There will be four tracks focused on different areas: data analysis and visualization, hardware systems, AI/machine learning, and general ideas that don't fit the other three.

First Meeting Recap
Hi everyone,
It was great to get to see you all at the first meeting on Wednesday! Here are a few of the things that we talked about. We attached a copy of the slides that we went over during the meeting which include links to our discord, a link to where to register in DoSportsEasy with the school, a when2meet for your availability for activities, and an application for the Vice President position available at the end of this semester.
Regarding the team:
If you are planning on, or even considering, showing this year (fall or spring semester), please create an account/profile on the IHSA website (ihsainc.com). You do not need to pay the registration fee yet and you should not fill out the placement forms yet (Tiffany or Erica will go through this with you after your first lesson), but you should print your rider application form, sign it, and bring it with you to your lesson on Friday or Saturday. If you are not taking an evaluation lesson either Friday or Saturday then you must contact either Lila (lmarino1@umbc.edu) or Megan (mjones16@umbc.edu) and get it to us ideally by Friday the 23rd, but we must have them by Monday September 26.
For lesson sign ups:
We have included the link to a google form where you can sign up for the evaluation lessons on either 11:00 AM on Friday September 23rd, or 1:00PM on Saturday September 24. As a part of this google form we have included an acknowledgement of our team agreement (attached to this email) as well. We know that it seems like a lot to read and commit to, but everything on there is very important to ensure the safety and success of each of our team members. If this does not apply to you just select the “does not apply” option. Please also be sure that priorto taking any lessons at Morningside you create a DoSportsEasy profile with the school, otherwise we cannot allow you to either take lessons or show with the team.

We will try to offer group lesson sign ups every month so that we can all get together and practice together, as well. If you were not at the first meeting, and need to start lessons with Tiffany, please get in contact with her as soon as possible. Additionally, if you do not have the liability waiver for Morningside, you can either print it from their website and sign it, or sign electronically. If you choose to sign electronically please email a copy to Erica and Tiffany (elhaschert@gmail.com and tseay1991@gmail.com).

Phishing Alert: Part-Time Student Administrative Assistant

Recently, the Division of Information Technology(DoIT) received multiple reports of job phishing emails from a Gmail account. The phishers are pretending to offer a Part-Time Student Administrative Assistant job. Below is an example of the email. For privacy purposes, we removed the To field.
