My name is Alex Schobitz - I'm a Senior in Animation here at UMBC and I currently live off campus in Howard County (almost directly next to Howard County Community College) The condominium I live in has an extra room, and with the moving out of our last roommate we need to find a new roommate by the middle to end of June.
We're a non smoking and non drug home with tons of space. We have no pets, (aside from a tank with hermit crabs in it) but if you'd like to bring a pet we're ok with that too. (although the pet would need to be approved by our landlord)
If you were to be our roommate you'd have your own room with a closet, as well as your own shelf and drawer in the fridge, and several shelves in the pantry and two cabinets all for food storage. We also have additional closet storage spaces for any other items you may have. You would share a bathroom with one other person, but there is plenty of space both on and under the sink for toiletries, as well as a medicine cabinet and a (currently mostly empty) closet next to the bathroom. The bathroom has a full shower/tub and toilet.
Our rent is $603.33 per month and utilities would normally be under $100 depending on energy usage. We have high speed internet, television, microwave, range, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, in home dryer and washer, and a lovely balcony that overlooks the yard of trees.
Our condo is right next to a lovely walking trail and only a 5 minute drive from the local mall, which hosts many job opportunities as well. We have a ton of shopping around for groceries that fit any budget. You'd have to have some type of transportation to umbc as we are about a 22 to 25 minute drive from campus, however if you and I had classes on the same day we could also carpool together, however I graduate in December of 2022.
Our condo is in one of the safest rated neighborhoods in the area according to multiple maps, and I feel perfectly fine walking around even past midnight. Our neighbors are quiet and very lovely people.
I'm a very artsy person and run a small art business from my office and I love hanging out with my friends. I identify as transgender and use he/him pronouns. My roommate Kenny uses he/him as well and works full-time with FedEx and he's very quiet, kind, and respectful.
