DawgCTF 2022 will be a Jeopardy-style CTF, so things are pretty simple. Players register online, either in teams or alone. At 1300 EDT on April 29, 2022, the competition will open. Players will have access to a board of challenges, ranging from easy to nigh-impossible, and scored appropriately. Whoever earns the most points by solving challenges wins! The in-person part of the event will take place in room 206 of the Public Policy Building.

The CTF will begin at 1:00 PM EDT on Friday, April 29, 2022, and end at 1:00 PM EDT on Sunday, May 1, 2022, for a total runtime of 48 hours. The maximum team size is four. There will be an in-person component for UMBC participants only.

At 8:00 PM on Friday, April 29th (7 hours after the start), we will give out some prizes to UMBC competitors, depending on their current position on the scoreboard at 8:00 PM. Only UMBC competitors will be eligible for these prizes. Don’t worry, they’ll be small prizes, mostly just for fun, and the clout and CTFtime credit will go to the “official” winners at competition closing time (1 pm on Sunday).

15th Annual NIH Career Symposium - May 11-13, 2022- ONLINE

<Tagline>For Postdocs & Graduate students in the biomedical sciences</Tagline>

Registration is now open for the NIH Career Symposium, a FREE event for all postdocs and graduate students in the biomedical sciences.

15th Annual NIH Career Symposium - May 11-13, 2022 - 11 a.m. - 5:45 p.m.

The NIH Career Symposium highlights the diversity of career choices available to biomedical researchers today. Whether you are a new graduate student, postdoc, or clinical fellow just starting to consider career options or a senior student/fellow ready to look for a job, the NIH Career Symposium is for you!

Over 250 speakers have been recruited for you to network with. Each day will begin with an intro on each sector (career options, being a competitive applicant, resources for success). This is a great way to jumpstart each day and plan for what evets you would like to attend. You then will have the chance to network with professionals in a variety of jobs, participate in informational interviews which will help you identify your career of choice and the steps required to break into this field. We will host a series of Zoom rooms for career conversations with one or two speakers. Multiple rooms with speakers in similar career paths will run concurrently. The goal is for each room to have no more than 15 participants, giving every attendee ample time to connect with a professional. Participants will have the ability to move through the "rooms" as they like, meeting a speaker, asking questions, or even just listening to see if a particular career path looks enticing. NOTE: Discussions will NOT be recorded.

There will be a workshop on "Why Career Choices are so Hard; a practical guide for navigating the career" on Wednesday afternoon, and a workshop on Thursday afternoon on Current Hiring Trends.

May 11 - Academic Careers

May 12- Industry Careers

May 13 - For the Love of Science Careers

Closer to the event a guide will be sent to those registered on how to navigate these rooms for informational interviews (including seed questions).

This year, the event will be hosted through an online platform to make it easier to provide more interactions between participants and speakers. You are welcome to attend every session, or just those in which you are interested.

Registration is FREE, but please only register for those you plan to attend.

ONE REQUEST - If you are planning to attend particular sessions, please add that to your Agenda within the Whova pages - that way they can have a feel for how many participants to expect at each session to ensure there are adequate number of speakers.
