Campus Solutions, HR and Finance System Down Time



In order to facilitate a mandatory PeopleSoft Campus Solutions upgrade, it will be necessary to take down the Campus Solutions, HR and Finance systems.  The systems will be down from Friday, April 1, 2022 5:00 pm through Sunday, April 3rd, 2022 5:00 pm.   During that time, you will be unable to retrieve information or perform transactions in the system.  We will make every effort to limit down time, and we will inform the Campus should the upgrade activities conclude earlier than anticipated. Other functions and applications in myUMBC will not be affected.

Joshua Gray, the President of the Student Government Association at UMBC, invites all members of CSSA to join a leadership development series titled "Leadership in Excellence: Strengthening Community Ties"  hold by the SGA and OCA Mocha.

Leadership in Excellence: Strengthening Community Ties is a leadership symposium dedicated to supporting UMBC students in recognizing their own leadership capabilities, strengths, and motivations. This program will demonstrate how intricately and inextricably connected leadership is to the communities that we serve and support. By the end of the program, participants will be able to: 
  • Identify and describe personal leadership styles and motivations 
  • Name ways to better support the communities that you serve
  • Challenge societally held notions of leadership and community involvement
  • Learn ways to enhance presence within UMBC communities as well as neighboring communities

This program will take place on April 2nd, 16th, and 23rd from 10-2pm at OCA Mocha. You will only be attending a session on one of the three Saturdays mentioned. FREE Breakfast and lunch will be provided for all participants.

Welcome Week Leaders (Woolies) are ambassadors for UMBC, and facilitate Welcome Week for new students at UMBC. Woolies develop relationships with new students, engage with Welcome Week events, and also help with the logistics of Welcome Week. Woolies are here to support new students and their transition to college by sharing their personal student experiences, valuable resources, and important upcoming events and opportunities.

The annual enrollment for USM MetLife Optional Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability Insurance will now end Tuesday, March 29 at 11:59 pm EST.  Employees that already participate in one or both benefits, the current coverage will continue, with no action required.

During this year's Annual Enrollment, eligible employees* may either enroll for the first time, cancel, or increase their coverage online. Elections made during this enrollment period will be effective April 1, 2022, or the first of the month following MetLife's approval of the request.

On June 1st to July 31, a large room on Linden Avenue will be available for $550 per month (about a 5minute drive to UMBC and a 1minute walk to the bus stop). One and a half baths are shared by the other two housemates in this townhouse. There are four bedrooms in all. One of the bedrooms is located in the basement. Utilities are not included, although depending on the month, they normally cost between $35 and $80 total each month (utilities include BGE, Internet, lawn mowing). The townhouse also comes with a washer/dryer, air conditioning/heating, free street parking, a yard, and is close to major grocery stores such as Giant, Weiss, CVS, and Walgreens. This is a male-only room.
