James X. Bembry, social work, publishes new novel

<Tagline>Novel is titled, "A Crack in the Heights"</Tagline>

James X. Bembry, PhD a 1975 graduate of the College of the Holy Cross released his first novel, “A Crack in the Heights”, published by Star 86. Set in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, “A Crack in the Heights” is entertaining and educational. A Crack weaves through history, from north to south, present to past, and back again! It tells the story of two long-time friends, Salem and Sam, who battle the 1980’s crack cocaine epidemic scourging their community. Together, they are determined to save their beloved Heights, by any means necessary!

This review by Andy Lazris says it all:

“Exciting, amazing story telling, great character development. It forces the reader to think and to relate to the complex and endearing characters! It touched me in so many ways and was both riveting and meaningful. I first read the manuscript several years ago and I was blown away! So much of it is still plastered to my brain. I am thrilled that the book is finally out. I loved it then, and I can't wait to read it all over again! And may everyone get the pleasure that I did when they read it.”

“A Crack in the Heights” is available on www.Amazon.com. and has been distributed at select stores in Springfield, MA. (Olive Tree Books and Voices)., Martha’s Vineyard Island, MA. (C’est La Vie)., and Columbia, MD.
