Some sites are open to any native speaker of English with a Bachelor's degree in hand at the start of the ETA award. These sites may want some teaching or tutoring experience, a degree in English, American Studies, history with a concentration in US history, or other social science and humanities majors. They do not require any formal training in applied linguistics or teaching of English as a second language. MLLI majors are strongly encouraged to apply for sites with an asterisk.

* Denotes either a strong preference for applicants with local language skills, or requirement for advanced proficiency in the language. This is a 13-month position, 2-3 hours per month (mostly during one week of each month) from April 2019- May 2020. Compensation will be given at a to be determined rate (at least $200 per semester). Reviewers will be expected to score grant applications as requested, and meet once per month with the rest of the review panel to discuss scores and finalize decisions.

Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing several grant applications per month
• Using a rubric to assign scores to applications
• Working with an interdisciplinary panel to make decisions about applications
• Adhering to a pre-determined budget each month to award grants
• Using Microsoft Excel or a similar software to keep track of scores and make grant decisions

• Participate in the development and commercialization of cutting-edge multi-omics assays
• Perform LC-MS analysis of proteins, peptides, and small molecules
• Perform data analysis with statistical and bioinformatics tools
• Participate in the general lab and instrument maintenance

• Publish papers in peer-reviewed journals

• BS Biology, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry or related field
• PhD a strong plus
• Basic understanding of Theromo Scientific mass spectrometers such as QE series and QqQ; or Agilent mass spectrometers such as 6400 series QqQ.
• Hands-on experience in biological sample preparation for (U)HPLC and mass spectrometry is a strong plus.

Per 2 CFR 200 (Appendix III C.7) the negotiated rate in effect at the time of the initial award must be used through the life of the Federal award.  The F&A implementation memo has been updated to clarify this Uniform Guidance requirement.

So what does that mean for multi-year proposal budgets and existing awards?

*  There is no need to include award F&A budget escalations for out years on multi-year proposals.  Use the F&A rate in effect for all years of the budget.

*  OCGA will inactivate previously created projects to account for the escalation change.  Inactivation of these projects will begin next week and the individual departments notified once the project has been inactivated.

* Revised budgets for existing awards will not be needed.
